I don't know, it is a button masher. Nothing wrong with recommending a rent. Then again, Heavenly Sword is a button masher and were it not for some frame issues, I'd probably play it again every day.
If you can't buy it, or it's not your preferred genre, you should rent it just to experience the quality.
Well, this will be overkill in a desktop system for some time. We can barely get multithreaded apps other than Windows itself. Not to mention we're still waiting for 64-bit apps to take charge.
It's simply easier for developers to keep writing 32-bit, single threaded apps. No incentive to learn the tough stuff. Kind of like developers not taking the time to optimize for PS3, and to a lesser degree Xbox.
Heck, it's been a few years and Adobe still can't produce a ...
Hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but Microsoft has not choice. They're sitting pretty, but the writing is on the wall. They don't know what to do or what will happen. It's flying under the radar because MS is doing a good job of burying it, but the most significant even in gaming in the past 2 years is that developers are downgrading games because Microsoft lacks next-gen storage media. MS has to do everything they can to keep this from becoming the headline story. If it catches hold theres ...
FPS with weak shooting 9/10 - really?
Reviews will never die. Different strokes for different folks. Not everyone loves HALO or Uncharted.
Edit: This is actually one the most accurate reviews I've seen.
The still support SDTV for a reason too. I don't have a problem moving forward and marking games as HDTV only. Apparently the console makers nor the game developers are ready to do that .... yet.
Microsoft won't be leading the charge since they have a SDTV-based storage media. I mean, how can MS truly say HDTV only when they support DVD movie resolution only (in hardware that is).
You absolutely cannot make that claim without any facts whatsoever. All the users with PS1's can get a new console for $200 or $199 but CANNOT get an HDTV for that amount.
In July 2009 50% of Gears of War 2 players didn't have HDTV. Now, prices have fallen through the floor. Estimates are that 82% of US households will have HDTV by the end of 2010. Of course, that estimate was probably before the current economic crisis became public. I say public because its been brewing for a...
I don't think MS cares about numbers. It is more important to them for this title to NOT BE PS3 exclusive. Doesn't hurt that the game isn't getting the greatest reviews either, especially since the PS3 version is superior.
Games are already being degraded because of DVD9's limitations. However, MS won't make a change that will reduce their profit margin on the 360 until users stop buying 360s. When it does, they will and not until then. Unfortunately, Sony can't take advantage. PSN just can't compare to Xbox Live! and Xbox's franchises can carry it past the PS3 for now.
Most casual gamers don't notice the degradation in their games and don't care about disc swapping. Heck, most casual gamers neve...
I'm with you. I don't think a button masher/rail game can ever be 10/10. The perfect game in this genre whould max at 8/10. I think it will be great, long overdue. I'm going to get it. But it won't change gaming. A 10/10 should do something "special." I think GOW 3 just does GOW better than ever before. Same goes for all the Halo games and FPS sequels.
I think it's more a matter of licensing rights than doubts about its success.
Rare is the developer, but I believe Nintendo has publishing rights. I think the talks they refer to are not talks with Rare but maybe with Nintendo?
Microsoft was supposed to be workign with Samsung and other HD manufacturers to produced HDs with a similar solid state cache built into the drive itself. Wonder what happened with that ...
7 is pretty damn good. Runs like butter on my iMac. Really makes OS X look like a high school project. Windows 7 Runs better on Apple hardware than OS X. Unfortunately no upgrade paths so I'll have to go back to a PC in about a year. Gonna have to have USB 3.0.
Expandability and openness. The true advantage of the PC platform.
MS is going to have to address the lack of storage density. Storage requirements will grow, not shrink. I think they canhold off until the next gen though.
Yeah, but will it have new Lizard-people?
With its installed based that will automatically buy another sequel, it could and probably will be. Though I love Live! and think the Xbox is a great console, I've always thought Halo was rather, weak.
1) I don't particularly care for 1st Person Shooters. The genre is overexposed.
2) I prefer 3rd person shooter ala Gears and Lost Planet
3) I hate pig-like, cheesy, grammar school, animal and plant aliens. I mean, give me aliens that don't make me fe...
Still costs too much. That's basically 1/3 the cost of a PS3 Slim.
For the record, PS3 does NOT have built in 802.11n and for HD Netflix without interruption (quality downgrade) 802.11n is a necessity.
Having said that, $100 is absolutely ridiculous. Microsoft is going to ruin themselves. I may go back to PS3 with the slim and Magic the Gathering coming to PS3 next year. I can't wait for Darksiders and the sound will be better on PS3. 802.11n adapter was going to be a big reason I stuck with Xbox but at $100, might as well wait for Sony's adapt...

Not as much as you have to borrow to maintain the American lifestyle since even uneducated Americans getting federal assistance won't pick lettuce for $4/hr.
Edit: And now, watching the direction this thread is going on a gaming site, you can understand why MS banned the Gamertag. Would mbeach McCain21 have been banned. Maybe not. The racial/supremist element isn't there. No one would care. A similar tag about Palin might since she is generally incindiary and plays racial polit...
