Agree 100% High Stakes Poker is prime example. No way to invite friends to your table. Really takes away from the experience. Of course, it also uses the horrendous gamespy net.
Finally got UC2 after switch to PS3. They hype was warranted. Overall, Gears 1 is still my pick. But on pure good looks, UC2 does set the bar for a game with limited objects on screen. I mean, we're not talking hordes here. But still, the animation and prettiness do set the bar. Not way, way up there, but up there past #1.

5)UC2, GOW3, bought em, playin' this weekend. To date Gears 1 is the best graphical game in existence. More Resolution and textures don't in and of themselves = beautiful looking/moving game. We'll see.

You make a good point. But there's nothing to say Sony can't pay to keep something from being Xbox exclusive. I agree, games should be multi platform, but as long as one side is willing to pay, you will have some exclusives or timed exclusives unless both sides pay.
Microsoft can take a loss to make a profit for years so they won't stop any time soon.
Paying for Exclusives or timed exclusives has worked well for MS. Especially with downloadable games. Right now I prefer the PS3 technically. But, by the time Zombie Apocalypse got to PSN, I was done. I'm trying to hold out (from going back to my XBox)for Magic The Gathering: DOP. But Expansion 2 is already out on Xbox and still not firm date for PSN. By the time Braid got to PSN it was old news.

It's not overrated by the people who want it. And when/if it comes to the PS3 it'll be the best thing since the last feature added.
The superb chatting features is one of Live! biggest advantages and it will be welcome on the PS3. Jeez.

Multiplayer is where it's at. Sure, single player campaigns are the staple. But some games, particularly casual games which is the biggest swing market, multiplayer is a must. Playing poker by yourself just isn't any fun. Neither is Wheel of Fortune.
I am with you though, most campaigns are better than multiplayer frag fests. But, co-op trumps them both IMO.
Why not have it all, eh?
