If the new PS3 has Wireless-N I may sell my slim an upgrade. Now I know before you sell, deactivate the unit under your profile for video.

PS3 is not an extender but it can stream Windows 7's WTV format recordings. Good enough if PS3 has N.

I switched to PS3 but may re-add the new slim just for N and media center extender.

Wireless-N surpasses the PS3, but the lack of Blu-ray really hurts the Xbox. Maybe not movies as much, but games, yes.

Nothin' much here. I am wondering if Castlevania will be on PSN too. Right now I'm waiting for th new Lara Croft game, Alien Breed: Impact, and Magic The Gathering to finally drop for PSN.

If I do go back (or rather add back) an Xbox, it'll be for XBLA. Sony's starting to catch up though and Alien Breed will fix many of the issues the XBLA version had.

Everyone wins here. The PS3 is responsible for the new Xbox Slim, and XBLA and Live! are re...

Built in Wireless-N is big. Especially since no N adapter is available for PS3. However, without Blu-Ray disc, PS3 is still the better value.

Of course, MS is betting Digital Downloads at Wireless-N speed (150Mbs - 300Mbs) will trump Blu-ray. They may be right as for movies, but it's the games. Compromising games to fit on DVD9 is still a major problem for MS this generation.

They're going to have to to get it on par with Live! Development costs money.

PS3 version should not have the control problems.

I'd like to see:

1) PSN improvements UI for store, enhanced infrastructure
2) Alien Breed: Impact for PS3
3) Magic The Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers PS3

A really good Dungeons & Dragons title. Preferably with an isometric view ala the new Tomb Raider.

Geometry Wars for PS3 3D

Of course, none of those will happen.

Some of it is marketing. If Uncharted 2 were on the Xbox, I think you'd be seeing even more sales and much more marketing. There would probably be a Saturday morning Cartoon and a movie by now.

Does a lot of users buying the same game mean they are sheep, or does it mean a single game has found mass appeal.

Games like ME2, SCC, and AWake will never outsell a mass appeal juggernaut like Halo. They're too niche and not as easy to jump in and go for the masses. Also, keep in mind the female appeal does huge things for Halo's sales. The best Halo player I know personally is a female.

Don't know if any other console game has a bigger female following or mastery.

I revisited the PS3 with the Slim thanks to bitsreaming.

Burnout Paradise is a totally different game on PS3 than Xbox due to performance and far superior graphics (due to poor xbox port). I've recently bought all the add-ons.

Uncharted 2 is a recent purchase and may end up being the best video game ever in my book. Have to finish it. It's neck and neck with Gears 1 and pulling away.

God of War 3, bought it due to hype but haven't...

I actually can't stand Halo. But I'm not about to deny reality. Racing games, no matter how good, will sell systems, but won't ever rule a generation. Too niche, even if its a big niche. Especially if it's a sim.

I couldn't take it serious when he said he was looking for big announcements from MS to have a meaningful E3 and then said I'm not talking about Gears 3 or Halo: Reach which will be the 2 of the biggest releases this generation.

You can get Wireless-N for $78 at Walmart. Still too much though.

I see your point. But sometimes fanboys go too far with their outlandish claims especially when doing comparisons. To the point that the opposition, the people you're trying to convince, simply don't listen anymore.

I just totally ignored most of the zealotry about Uncharted 2 for example. They were just way over the top and obnoxious. Turns out, Uncharted 2 may be one of, or the best, console games ever. By the time I finish it, I may put it over my current best cons...

I thought the Wii motion controller and how people look playing it was stupid. And look what happened. It's not my thing. I would only like it for menu navigation. But some people enjoy it. I mean, look how popular Twister still is.

I seriously doubt OS as an operating system was a system selling feature for all but the most hardcore geeks. I have several computers and have never had a non IT job and I never had a desire to install an other OS on the PS3 Fat I owned.

Neither platform has 100% backwards compatibility. It's a lot to ask for in the console business. Even computer OS' at some point have to drop significant amounts of backwards compatibility to advance.

I'd rather pay and have PSN perform as well as Live!

5774d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

You make good points. And at a minimum, improving the interface would be better than what's there now.

But, just like Live! I would be more than willing to pay $50/yr for a PSN that equalled Live!'s usability and experience. Who knows, maybe PSN Premium will provide those things. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

I also think backwards compatibility wouldn't be an issue. Just like trophies, a patch could be issues or users would just have to und...
