I don't know about ground breaking for an extra <$1/month but, more yes. ESPN is gonna get theirs, especially since it will cut into their web and cable viewership which may affect their advertising revenue. Though I'm sure they'll have ads on XBL.
The voice is being improved but it was great before. I have a feeleing chat will be extended to facebook, Windows Phone 7, and XBL. I belive you will be able to email using your XBL accounts as well.
Considering I never paid more than $40, this increase will probably result in me paying the original $49.99. Obviously, someone's gotta pay ESPN. I'll do that for a year and swee what else comes. I was on PSN yesterday and just can't do it. I'll pay $5/month.

Not sure who it is that says a game has to be exclusive to sell. Just happens Gears and Halo are exclusive to Xbox. But right now I'm looking forward to Castlevania: LoS, NBA 2k11, and still haven't bought Madden 11 yet. And of course, all my XBLA games. I actually don't do Halo. After that Brink.

That would be correct. Along with the rest of the list. Classic arcade and board games, especially ones that Americans play since I'm American, should be DLC on all systems. Those who don't have them, can't claim to have a well rounded DL library of arcade games.

It's a lie becuz you say so. Not. Why don't you go browse XBL and then tile through the horrid PSN UI. Start with Letters, then squint to see the tiny tiles, or highlight them just to see what they are.

Yeah, the whole thing is a fail. An article claiming PSN arcade games are even close to XBLA right now, is a fail.

I agree with you, even though it's not my thing. But that's not always aa good thing. Especially now that Bungie's flown the coop. Reach is the best looking Halo. I might give it another shot.

Agreed. The best console for you is whichever one has the games you enjoy playing. With downloadables beginning to dominate, Blu-ray and pure pixels have not really had an impact this generation. Next generation may be different, at least with regards to Blu-ray. I don't know that Xbox needs Blu-ray per se, but it needs some higher density storage. Maybe 100G Blu-ray which would also require new hardware from Sony as well. Gears 3, Halo: Reach, Brink, Crysis will get MS through this gener...
It isn't required. But it would make things more convenient for a handful of games.
I've gone back to the Xbox but, I'm prolly going to get this for my PS3. I'm not lazy, but I'm not swapping discs either. If I really like it, I'll trade it in after I play it and get the Xbox version for achievements.
Don't know about wires. I've never used wires with either PSN or XBL. But my experience is XBL (wireless) and video are much better quality than PSN. Except in one instance, when I used my $100 plantronics pro bluetooth with it. I'd give the Plantronics the slight edge. Of course, speaking "mute on/off" didn't hurt its score. Connectivity was wonky though, but once you get it connected, it's hot!
FWIW, regular audio is a hands down PS3 win.

Agreed. Has always been very good. Perhaps, with Windows Phone 7 coming out, they're enhancing for phone integration, or maybe they will enable XBL users to chat and video with Windows Messenger users as well.
I can't imagine them improving it more than it is now without having some objective as its quite good already.

#4 I don't know dude. One of the guys who worked on Live! came from CRM Dev. Software and UI is one of the things Microsoft does extremely well when bureacracy of the giant doesn't get in the way.
It's clearly not Sony's bag. They should bring in someone to revamp it IMO. I really don't think they'll catch up in that area.
My worry is I'll miss the great characters from DR1. We'll see. After all it took to get through the 1st, I so wanted Frank to have his way with Isabella and come back for more.
Yeah, I hated it at first. Especially the strict time aspect. Once I figured out how to use the books though things change. I could basically keep chainsaws forever with the right books. Then it was great fun going after the achievements. The only thing I would change is the save system. And when when there's so much to figure out and experiment with, timed quests suck.
How many survivors did you actually save? Did you give weapons to yoru survivors so they could fight with you?
If you feel Xbox and XBL are in decline, why are you paying $40/year for it when you can have PSN for free?
Take the free path, PSN and enjoy. No one is stopping you. What am I missing?
What is the "core" gamer? Someone who buys a dedicated gaming console? Maybe the "core" gamer isn't the majority anymore. I want great games, and a UI that actually makes everythign accessible and useable. Full messaging, easy privacy and exclusion ...
