You could also pre-order the game through Origin, that will also get you into the beta 48 hours early. PC only, of course.
BF3 will be at 60 fps for me. I'm a PC gamer.
As far as maps go, it's quality vs quantity, and we won't be able to judge that properly until after release.
As others have stated, the maps will be laid out differently depending on the mode, so 3 versions of each map certainly provides enough diversity.
Because you can get the Back to Karkand expansion for free, you're really getting 13 maps, with 3 versions = 39 maps.
The maps will be laid out differently depending on which mode you're playing, so conquest will be more spread out, with as many as 5 control points on a 64 player server. Judging by the alpha map, metro, rush will be similar to the bfbc2 rush maps, long and narrow.
I agree that 3 of Nam's maps were not very good for conquest, but Operation Hasting's and that other big one were good for conquest.
Yuck, there's fail dripping all over my post here... Hey you up there, would you mind not typing any more of your logical failures?
Yup, Crysis 2 is a sequel to Crysis in name only, the storylines are completely different.
Crysis 2 was quite disappointing.
Conquest is back with 5 control points, it's already my favorite mode, though BFBC2's maps were a bit too small for proper conquest.
With 64 players, jets, and HUGE conquest maps, those of you who are only familiar with BFBC2 are in for a real treat when you play BF3 in conquest mode, it's all out warfare.
At least you're open-minded.
One more person that I'm glad won't be on the BF3 servers.
OK, Apparently the author meant that MW3's answer to BF3's destructible environments is likely to be doors, glass, and barrels. That is not as idiotic as I first suspected.
Funny, the title is very misleading.
@ girl007. First, learn to read and write English. Second go and read some articles about BF3 (now that you can read, this shouldn't be too hard). Third, jump off the highest building you can find, preferably before you get the chance to reproduce.
DICE has already confirmed that you can destroy the giant radio tower seen in the Caspian Border trailer.
Based on the article, it seems the author was implying that while BF3 is offering fully destructible environments, the "destruction" in MW3 is only going to be restricted to glass, doors, and barrels.
"Activision does see Battlefield 3 as a threat by announcing larger maps and destruction, but destruction is likely to be no more than doors, barrels, and glass."
Wow so destruction 2.0 is just doors, barrels, and glass?
What an idiot, this fool is writing articles that are 100% based on speculation, inaccurate speculation, no less.
No doubt. I can't think of a CoD game that I'd pay $60 for, and no way I'd pay $50 a year for that stupid elite service either.
Too many better games out there these days.
I know, there's all these trolls who keep insisting BF3 isn't anything but better graphics. Then they expect us to fill them in on all the innovations and new game mechanics.
To them I say, if you can troll, then you can read. If you can't find anything innovative about BF3, you're not even trying.
Hey Fishy, is school capitalized where you come from? Grammar Nazi fail.
While I have no doubt MW3 will sell better on consoles, on PC I expect BF3 to destroy MW3's sales. Personally, I don't really care how it does on consoles, but it is interesting to see what appeals to the lowest common denominator.
Next year, EA will pump out another Medal of Honor, then the year after maybe BF4, maybe BFBC3. It's hard to say what will come out, can't predict when and if the consoles are ever going to be updated to a new generation.
I couldn't deny the popularity of the popular kids at school either. However, as it turns out the vast majority of them were shallow D-bags with no depth or intelligence.
Popularity does not equal quality.
Yeah you guys are right, the only difference between BF2 and BF3 is a completely new engine, new game modes, destruction, suppression fire, new vehicles, new weapons, new maps, new revive system, new squad system, new sniping method, new spotting system, new server browser.
That's just off the top of my head. You guys can type, so I assume you read too. If you're unaware of all the innovations, it's because you're avoiding them on purpose.
E...
They used that map for the Alpha, so they likely won't be using it for the Beta.
I think we're getting Caspian in conquest mode.
