Jaffe hasn't made a AAA game in over 7 years.
Don't worry, with all the CPUs and GPUs going into the NextBox people will require a retina scan before making purchases.
Wait, a finger print scanner could actually work..on the controller, to reduce hacked accounts.
I haven't played MGS4 for a while, but when I bought it a few years ago it was definitely my favourite game - i played it over 3 times back to back.
I still consider it one of my favs of the gen, but I have to see how it holds up.
I thought the same about Uncharted 2 until I got in a gun fight and was strangely extremely disappointed by how the people don't react to being shot until the last kill shot. It killed the immersion.
Build a gaming PC now because you can upgrade it throughout an entire console gen and wait two years for the next-gen consoles to drop in price, workout hardware issues and build a library of good games.
Well, that's my plan anyways.
Guaranteed Nintendo will release a duel analog version in two years.
Excellent.
I agree it's the devs too, the fact that they they don't release anything good during the summer months makes me accustomed to not playing games, so now I'm thinking why not just live without them, I can save money and do more mentally/physically enriching activities.
Most of the stories and characters are starting to seem juvenile too, maybe I'm just getting too old for games.
Halo 4 looks better obviously but I'd have to see it in motion; Reach didn't look as good as those screen shots in motion due to a terrible motion blur implementation that look more like ghosting than blur.
Well said bubble earned.
I agree with square, I'm starting to lose interest in gaming for the first time ever - there's just no more excitement to it.
Who cares, Halo gunplay/gameplay is entirely different than COD.
I doubt COD introduced load outs anyways, every good idea is adapted from another, it's called advancement.
Game creators rely way to much on what the potential users think they want, which is limited by what they've experienced. Users often don't know they'd want something new unless it was introduced to them, as it is outside of their imagination which is why they are not creators, simply users.
It's the job of the creator to fulfill his vision and create new standards for what it desired.
"If I asked people what they wanted they would have s...
Woah, the author has just opened up a philosophical gaming can of worms.
Is a game still the same game by a different name? People praised Ubi for the new IP, would Watch Dogs seem less impressive as the 6th Assassins Creed release in as many years.
Would Mario be as good if the gameplay remained identical but didn't involve Mario?
Are games about gameplay or some deeper emotional reaction to characters and brands?
Everyone is hating on Square saying all their games were crap but Deus Ex HR was an excellent game and the new Tomb Raider looks excellent.
That's what Epic did with MS for Gears and it probably won MS this gen (HD console) battle. Imagine how much worse every 360 game would look compared to PS3 if MS stuck with its initial 256 RAM.
"non-gaming functionality for Microsoft’s next XBox will take up a “hefty amount” of the system’s memory leaving an undisclosed amount left over for gaming."
WTF Microsoft.
People who sign a phone contract save $200 - $400 on the price of the phone, which to be of any use requires phone service. No matter what, when you have a phone you have to pay monthly/cardly to use it.
You can buy your phone full price without a contract and use it for 3 years (or more) paying the monthly or sign a contract and save money.
People who sign this Xbox contract, save nothing, miss out on any Live deals through out the two years ($30 instead of...
Move is another example, and in the current consumer tech market companies can't afford to release great hardware without great software to run it.
Great hardware without great software is useless, the two are necessarily interdependent. Sony can't just be a hardware company unless it wants to use the competitions software to run it.
Also Vita isn't even a year old and was essentially ignored at E3.
So again, great hardware but p...
Most people when playing console games don't mind staring at TV screen as they have their own TVs.
Generally, it's only kids that have the problem of needing to share the TV.
Guitar Hero probably had the biggest fall, it went from top seller to nothing in one gen.
