Me too, I like competitive MP but it gets boring for me after 10hrs. My favourite thing about gaming is new experiences (atmospheres, environments and gameplay). I loved COD4 but by the time Black Ops came out, the experience seemed stale.
I really liked BF3 but after 15hrs it started getting boring.
I also finish all my games, some times 2-3 times.
PS3 already has F2P, MS doesn't give away anything for free, I bet they're pissed off ME3 Extended Cut was given away free.

I've been playing games since NES and Master System too, and to be honest the only reason a lot of those games were so difficult was because players had limited lives, continues, save, checkpoints, etc.
Also, game testing wasn't as in depth so there were cheap deaths all the time due to poor game design.
I'm not a huge COD fan but as an example, try playing it on Veteran with 3 lives, 3 continues and no check points.

It ridiculous that a multibillion dollar technology company has a worse browser than 4 years old phones.
It's because 80% of gamers only care about online competitive MP in their favourite shooter or sports game.
I lent my older brother the entire Uncharted series, he said the game is awesome but he couldn't even finish one game after 8 months and just gave them back. Why? because every time he starts up the PS3, he rather just play NHL online Be A Pro mode.

I totally agree, I actually kind of like my PS3 better than my 360 because MS charges for online and I was a victim of 360s former hardware quality issues and generally, PS3 is a far better value than 360... BUT, lately I've been getting multiplats on 360 just because I'm tired of the slow message and trophy system.
Sony gives us all this non-essential stuff with their updates but never listens to what the owners actually want to improve playing an actual game.
What about when a trophy unlocks I allowing people to just press the PS button and have it go directly to the trophy...same thing with new messages.
I sometimes get games on my 360 just because it takes forever to see what a new trophy was for. You have to press PS, scroll to trophies, press on trophies, select the the right trophies (sometimes twice), scroll through all the trophies to find the new one, then another 3 button presses to get back to the game.

Lol, I like that term "Microsoft Marketing". Say what you will about MS, but they certainly put 100 percent (and at least 100 million add dollars) behind their products, good or bad.
I think if EA just focused on making games instead of dominating every corner of the gaming industry they'd wouldn't post losses every year.
They have a lot of very strong franchises but try too hard to be number one in every genre, and marketplace.
If someone is making a dollar anywhere in the industry, EA wants to destroy them and take their place.
These things need wide spread game support before they can take off.

I agree, it looked like UE3 with a new particle system - I don't develop games though and I think the real upgrade is in it's functionality more so than graphics.
Unreal 4 engine was disappointing, the Luminous Engine was far more impressive imo.

MS needs to make Windows Phone more popular and release their own Win8 phone hardware because people like synergy among products - the hundreds of million Android people want Droid Tabs and the hundres of million iPhone users want iPads because they work perfectly with each other run the same OS, have mostly interchangeable apps, etc.
Suface looks really cool, better than iPad in a number of ways but MS should have made a sweet new MS Phone to go with it as well.
When 3D doesn't make the graphics look like crap it adds immensely to the immersion in games. You really feel like you're in the world, especially FPS games but 3D for movies adds very little imo.
This gen of consoles isn't ready for 3D, the only games that looked good were Crysis 1 and 2, which apparently weren't real 3D but who cares, because they looked better than anything else... Super Stardust HD looked good too.
Everything dies, I certainly hope 1000 years from now they have way better things than home game consoles. People need holodecks.
