I need to see a vid of how well it runs games.
To me they reached their peak about 2 years ago. For example, I wouldn't say Uncharted 3 or Mass Effect 3 looks much better than Uncharted 2 or Mass Effect 2.
The games coming out now don't look much better than the games that can out 2 years ago.
The industry's biggest problem is that gamers don't buy innovative games, they keep buying the same type of games. If the "same rehashes" didn't sell, the corps wouldn't make them.
Blame gamers more than anything, they vote for what they want with their dollars.
"while this generation will be remembered for connected-console gaming and motion controls"
I agree that this gen will be remembered for the online gaming revolution but motion controls aside from Wii were a complete failure, and even Nintendo has abandoned them for the next gen if that says anything about their long term success. While online and 3D worlds are here to stay I'm not sure motion controls are.
Casuals jumped on motion controls the...
With free online, the most power and multi-media features (for consoles, relax PC gamers), all the multiplats and a number of quality exclusives, I'd say Sony understands gaming more than any other console maker.
Playstation has been outselling all other home consoles world wide for a while, so yeah, Sony gets it.
What Sony doesn't get is TVs, phones, computers, tablets, home audio, etc.
I blame the old fart major shareholders more than the management.
Shareholder logic:
Hire a high priced CEO to manage the company..
...tell him what to do.
I think he's mostly an asshole.
$1000 is enough for a gaming set-up, it can't even buy a proper HDTV, let alone surround sound and games.
Europeans support Playstation way more than the Americans who prefer xbox.
Those were good games, not great ones.
It will probably release before Half-Life 3.
I agree that paying for MP should go away, I just don't think it is, if anything, I think it will get worse.
Just wait for publishers to charge for MP access, it's already starting with premium and elite services where people are paying another 50 dollars to not have restricted online features and content for a year.
This article sounds a bit fanboyish and misleading/confusing. Is it only 30 FPS when in 3D mode or all the time? And does it really need to be re-stated that PCs are more powerful than consoles, that fact couldn't be more obvious.
Being more powerful doesn't necessarily mean superior though, some of the best games are only on consoles and some of the best games are only on PC. I'd prefer to have both as they both have benefits that the other lacks.
What about Xbox Live? It's essentially $5-$10 a month for MP.
My theory is that a lot of people experienced buyers remorse.
They loved COD4 then as the years went by and they bought essentially the same game a few too many times, they directed the anger meant for themselves towards the COD series.
For me it happened after buying MW2, the campaign was short and shit and the MP was plagued by constant arial attacks. I was pissed I spent $60 on a game I got bored with after 10hrs.
Generally, I think COD...
Sony has so many good products and ideas but they never seem to really get behind anything, with the exception of PS3 of course. But even it has so many half-assed projects (Move, web browser, etc).
I hope they turn it around, I shutter at a console industry dominated by MS.
Funny, the first name to come to mind was Molyneux, he's first on the list.
I'm wasn't smiling at Nintendo's E3 presentation....or the speculated system specs...or launch line-up.
Hopefully the price will make me smile, common $250!
Not usually in the habit of blaming the victim but there are some people online that I feel deserve to get beat up. People say a lot of things online that they wouldn't in real life because they'd be liable to get punched, maybe this guy probably got his.
Human decency is for decent humans, some people around the net are so rude, racist, sexist, everything-ist and belligerent that they deserve bad things to happen to them.
A stabbing is extreme and n...
I'm getting sick of these tropes.
