Sony should keep away from handhelds. I freaking love the vita and PSP but they could t be trusted to actually support and push the handhelds. Vita deserved to do so much better.
I’m not sure what they’d bring to the market anyway, switch is decently powerful and phones are getting better at gaming very quickly. Even the most locked down (iOS) devices have full DualShock 4 support. Maybe Sony will eventually start supporting mobile properly instead of having their own hand...

Kids are a massive portion of the market. Presumably you also played when you were a kid. (if you aren’t still one.) No console manufacturer would want to concede the youth market to another company.

Dragonslayer, by that logic all game playing is a waste of time and for losers, and you should be shunned. Time is no less finite just because you only played through a game once. It’s an objectively “pointless” hobby done for enjoyment. Doesn’t matter what someone plays or how it has no less merit than your bizarro standards.

?! I’d think many - possibly even most - people replay games. I’ve played through FF7 at least 3 times and that’s nothing compared to some people. (Same for FFT) Played through silent hill 1 and 2 a few times each. Bloodborne twice. Why do you think new game+ type modes are so popular?

Me too, used to play coop with my brother.. (one of you could control the weird little droid thing, which was actually pretty interesting & innovative as a co-op option)

I find the never VR people pretty funny, spend ages going on about how it’s a dorky fad and will never take off and has no big titles.. When titles get announced noooope don’t want to hear it. It can’t win.

This sort of streaming may work well in future, hell.. ps now and steam remote play etc all work decently, but not as an outright replacement for a pc/console. Google should have cooperated with another big player rather than go it solo.

Interesting.. Don’t see much retro content like this on N4G. Loved wizball back in the day but never had a c64. Had it on the Atari ST and Amiga.. Unusually I think the c64 version is probably better.
Although singstar isn’t my rhythm/singing/band game of choice it annoys me when game services where you can buy songs etc shut down. People bought the tracks to play with, potentially online.
Saying that they may have stats saying almost nobody does play it, haha.

It was still important in the field though. Narrative focused walk about games with little traditional gameplay mechanics are a cool thing to have around, even if that particular one wasn’t great, it was definitely influential.
I have a love/hate relationship with it, like it as a piece of interactive fiction but didn’t enjoy it in the same way I generally want from a game.
I don’t like using review aggregation sites and sometimes my tastes are in tune with singular, odd viewpoints. Also don’t like their affect on the industry and the pressure it puts on some devs.
I guess the really subjective part is how entertaining the product is to the reviewer. If they legitimately hate playing something I can see it making sense to give a low score. Conversely something that is seemingly objectively “bad” technically but is actually really compelling a...
