Having a subscription service with quality titles may help rectify the image the AppStore has for ad supported shovelware.
This is good value if you have a whole family of iOS devices around.
iOS supports DS4 and X1 pads now, bizarrely, and the devices are certainly more than powerful enough to game well. Will be interesting to see how many devs get on board.

Weirdly on lower end systems it recently had an absolutely huge speed/smoothness boost. It’s genuinely surprising how well it runs on low end hardware now. (Like my shitty old laptop) Dunno about the highest end, mine is asort of intermediate, pretty outdated pc, where it works fine. (Not fast enough for smooth VR tho.)

Remember all the different versions of Streetfighter 2 on consoles that people bought repeatedly full price? NMS has had at least 4 free updates that were more substantive than most of those updates.. Being able to patch things is definitely good. That was all stuff that I agree with, and implied by the education about ratings* comment, and any reasonable parent would agree with.
*A lot of parents really don’t understand what games contain, which is frustrating and often down to wilful ignorance, but sometimes it’s an honest misjudgement based on outdated info and assumptions. If I try to explain some modern games to some of my older friends and relatives they have real trouble grokking what I’m talking about.
