That was more the parenting’s fault, not the games.

If my kid showed even the slightest inclination towards being like the old racist XBL kids they’d have the internet turned off and a serious re-education. 😅

Not even close.

It’s crazy how this doesn’t seem common sense and entirely obvious to so many Americans.

It’s more nuanced than that. By not ensuring it was comprehensively taken down (including from Internet archives) before going public she made it so something that would have only been known to a few people - common knowledge and easily available to everyone, when she knew exactly what would happen in that situation.

Opening the floodgates to all flavours of troll to “break a story!” is a bit shit.

Kotaku have been quite anti loot box and have come out st...

That isn’t it, one wonders what it really is. There are a lot of republicans who don’t get this sort of treatment.

When it’s user generated content the developers aren’t fully liable. All they could do is take down individual games a bit like how YouTube does.

The core game stuff is all totally legit, they probably can’t really police everything.

Same applies for Dreams and LBP, people infringe copyright constantly but the ip holders usually don’t care enough to do anything about it.

Almost full.. Minus Sigourney Weaver. :(

I miss home but if they were doing a new version I’d want Media Molecule developing it so that you could get proper user generated content in there.

Like a cross between the original Home and MMO Dreams, essentially. Could be super compelling.

The first Hard Disk I bought was 70MB.

It was £180 or something! These kids don't know how good they have it, haha!

Yeah, I remember being blown away playing OG Doom on the Gameboy Advance.. This is similar.

It IS mindblowing how fast tech is moving, it's a shame everyone takes it so much for granted.

Counterpoint from someone with an Oculus Rift: Its actually kind of an unpleasant mess played that way.

So far nothing I've tried has compared to Alien Isolation with VR enabled.

The console ports were never shareware. XD

At launch time I agree (the ps1 launch controllers had no analogue sticks, I don’t know why people forget this!) Once the PS1 got its analogue sticks (in the dual analogue controller), and rumble in the first Dual Shock controller I don’t think anyone could really claim the n64 controller better.

I remember being so bummed out when I got 2 dual analogue controllers and then they announced the dual shock. Argh.

People sure as hell claimed Sony were just co...

Hahah not even close!

I’ve got an Atari Jaguar and a Commodore CD32 and their controllers make the n64’s seem like it was created by geniuses.

The jaguar’s is so fricki g bad it has a huge numpad and games came with plastic overlay cards so you could figure out what all the tons of identical buttons did in any particular game.

Conversely I’d rather they applied their levels of production to almost anything else. They’ve attempted again and again to do this super serious but actually a b-movie games, and if you imagine them as any other medium they’d be mediocre at best.

They may be known for these narrative driven games but they’re freaking terrible at writing. 😅 David Cage is (virtually) a b movie director who thinks he’s freaking Spielberg or Kubrick (And often gets hyped up as such, li...

Errr..

Betas aren’t for your enjoyment. Betas are for ensuring the stability of significant changes on a wide a range of hardware as possible.

If they only did internal testing for things like changes to the update process you’d almost certainly get people with glitches and/or bricked consoles.

This is such a weird post, why would you assume people know all the same stuff you do already?

I haven’t the faintest idea about the difference in packaging and model numbers etc unless I was to look it up. Having an article repacking that info is exactly the sort of thing the web is for.

Not vouching for this particular article but it’s a good idea for one, regardless.

I guess worst case scenario with a breakage, in a situation where you can’t get it repaired, you could still be able to use the classic controller or joycons? Not as portable but at least functional?

If it lets you use them as player1? No idea, don’t have a switch yet.

😬 The repeated mentions of Kojima when referring to a series he had nothing to do with.

And the suggestion that ST draws from SH is also weird as SH consciously and openly drew from King, and many other sources, some of which ST is also clearly referencing. SH named most of its street names after the writers who influenced it. An “upside down”/borked and corroded world exists in loads of horror, including movies that predate SH (Jacobs Ladder particularly) SH is my ...

They didn’t say laptop of comparable prices are outperformed by iphones? Flagship phone VS mid-tier laptop is what it said. A performance focused $850 laptop is of course going to outperform the iPhone. Many people don’t opt for performance over form though. (Which is a real concern when lugging it around everywhere.)

On many occasions the phone would win, if we’re talking about ultrabooks and tablet PCs particularly. How well does the surface pro in that price bracket comp...
