Really confuses me with remasters where they completely seem to miss the aesthetic the original was going for. They can’t claim “well, actually the devs wanted it to look like this, but the tech didn’t allow it..” because that’s nonsense. They could have easily had a totally different atmosph...

Both have good games. If you want to play all the good games you need both. If not, there’s enough to get by with on either... But multiplat games are generally nicer on even a modest gaming PC..

I’m a big fan of the ending and this games treatment of Joel. I love Joel as a character, but this wasn’t even an unhappy end compared to what could’ve happened. He isn’t supposed to be some one dimensional badass, he was a normal dad who was forced to become rough around the edges, but he went out how he’d want to, and yes, he’d gone somewhat soft. He wouldn’t even hate Abby for this, he knew the sort of things he did had a heavy price. They chat about all the bad shit he’s done a lot.
The mods generally don’t work anywhere near as well as included support. (I have oculus rift, and -lay a few modded games... RE7 didn’t work well.)
You're supposed to hate Abby at the beginning, that's the whole point.. I liked her and appreciated what they did with her by the end.. Her stupid revenge quest is no different than Ellie (and Tommy's) and in many ways is MUCH more justified..

At my tv’s size/distance there’s barely any difference between 1080 and 4k, so I’d always choose 1080p (or 1440 downscaled to 1080p) and take the performance bump over a 4k resolution boost.
There’s a lot more to image quality than either resolution or FPS, but Smooth/fast FPS is waaaay more important to me most of the time.

There are comparable games by genre(s) and nothing of this scale exists - and under the traditional funding/publisher model this would never have been possible as it’s scope is too broad..
Being tied to the publisher/launch window system almost wrecked NMS too, and they’ve more than recovered since, but structurally NMS is a simpler game without as many moving parts so tacking things on has worked really well for them.

I LOVE how long this game is taking and even its insane feature creep. Id like to see more cross-generational Uber-games like this, even if there's a big risk of it not paying off at the end, I can't knock how ambitious it is.
By the time its "finished" I'll probably need a whole new pc to run it well.
