Yup, partially - but back then it was even worse as computers had valves, moving parts, relay switches etc, so they could mess things up more easily.
Does the lapel mic/earpiece that comes with the ps4 have a mute button? Couldn't people just plug it in and mute that until the firmware is updated to add the option?

Says the guy selling a console that one of its primary selling points is shrinking the game screen to surround it with extra crap. On a device without a particular gaming focus. Which outputs at low resolutions. ;)

Odd, the ps3 does the same thing with the PS Eye - if you have it set as the mic. (In games like LBP i frequently forgot it was doing it.)
Presumably the ps4s audio settings are similar to the ps3 ones?

Jurat - You can get usb receivers for the normal wireless remotes. Not sure if MS still makes them but third parties do - sometimes claiming they're official. I got one of those and it works perfectly - build quality is crap though, and i had to manually install the drivers rather than use the installer on the disc it came with.
Depends if you already have 360 remotes around as to what's best to get. :)

Have you tried xpadder? Its pretty easy to get PC MC running with an xbox360 controller.
The biomes are muuch nicer in pc 1.7 - i hope that makes it over to the console versions at some point.
The pc version will never be finished. (Intentionally) The recent 1.7 update changed half the code, the way biomes are generated etc... If theyd been working on porting the earlier code theyd have had to change things on a constant basis.
I cant blame them for not making the consoles the same as the pc version - itd be a ridiculously difficult job going after a moving target like that.
I hope a lot of the pc stuff continues to trickle down to the console ver...

I dunno, 1 star review for a faulty product seems wrong to me. Id never give a product a 1* review for that reason unless it'd been working so i could rate it? 1* would mean terrible product or grossly misadvertised product to me. Neither of those seem true if a console is broken on arrival. 1* to me would be "this is terrible, i wouldnt have bought it if id thought it through" not "damnit now sony are going to take a few of days to replace it!"

Level-headed people dont expect 100% functionality from day one though. Its not been "stripped" it's just not implemented yet. No big deal.
Id rather they concentrated on other issues first.

You don't need extra speed for something that doesn't need it.
I think its good we get more divisive games. Nothing is going to be liked by everyone, and a split implies it does some things very well for some reviewers but not others. More varied games will mean a lot worse scoring games, but a more mature marketplace moving forward.
The criteria used to score games doesn't actually convert to the best games for everyone.

They got bought by sony ages ago and became Sony Liverpool - some of the staff still work at sony. They carried on working on the Wipeout games, and now i guess they're merged with Evolution working on Driveclub? not sure.
