Yeah forreals. That $280 million could have been towards our struggling economy.

Quaz51, same guy who found Halo 3 running 1152x640. Same guy who found GTAIV PS3 to be 1152x640.

It's only on the European PSN store right now
It's very likely the resolution will be the same in the final build.
Quaz seems to be reliable in most of his "findings" but what disturbs me most about his methods, or anybody on beyond3d forums is that they rely on "screenshots". However, most of them turned out to be correct so I don't think Quaz has any reason to make up resolutions.
I didn't find it to be that bad. Infact it feels a lot better than RSV2. One thing this game does really well is the Audio effects. I'm not talking about the voice work, but I mean the actual sounds of explosions and gunfire and things like that. And graphically, it looks very good. Seems like they sacrificed graphical fidelity to keep the stable frame rate. Hence, the low resolution of 576p.
All in all, people are going to hate it. But I guess I'm one of the rarer few who actual...
I think the problem with the Cell is that it's too complicated. We're getting all different kinds of results from across the board. Look at Ratchet & Clank FTOD, tons of detail and fluid animation with a 1280x704 2XMSAA resolution. Then we got this stuff that's only 1024x576 with 30 frames per second? Then there's GT5P that runs at 1280x1080 with 60 frames per second. And look at uncharted which runs 960x1080 which manages to hold very sharp textures.
Sony, hate to say it. B...
I cant believe that some of you guys are actually trying to defend the price. Boggles my mind. For $149.99, all you need is $120 more and you got yourself a brand spanking new X360 core. Or heck, that's more than two full priced games. Games like GTA IV, or Bioshock, or Mass Effect, or Gears of War, or Gears 2 etc. etc.
There's no way to spin this. Microsoft is screwing people up the rear end with this one. And judging by some of the people's responses like N4user, they like bei...
Capcom pretty much sealed the deal with the Wii in Japan. Especially by the looks of how things are going with the PSP
It's not as strange as trying to figure out why Japan loves monster hunter freedom so much
It's okay, for me I loved GTAIV for the fact that it was Grand Theft Auto FOUR. Not GTA 3.5 with the exact same gameplay as the others with HD graphics. (Looks at Halo 3)
There is absolutely no excuse why it should cost $179.99
Finally Killzone 2.
This is why it's posted in the "Industry" section. And movies don't have anything to do with games? That's why the PS2 played DVDs, that's why the 360 plays DVDs, and that's why the PS3 plays Blu-Rays.
It's all connected in some form or another.
"There no way microsoft is going to alienate the other 19 to 18 million 360 owners."
The original 20 million Xboxs waves hello.
here's why they think the PS3 version looks better, without resolution in mind.

Actually the PS3 version running at 640p actually turned out to be an advantage for the system.

There's some serious dithering effects on the 360 version when running in 720p. Maybe a patch could remedy the 360'...
I have a better one, the 360 hit it's limit when Gears of War came out. Why? Nothing has looked better than that game, and it's been over a year and a half.
GT5P says hello. Sure it's not 1920x1080 resolution, but it's 1280x1080 which is infact on par with PC resolutions. And not to mention a stable 60 frames per second.
Oohhh cool, the Madden '08 $65 patch is coming out soon.
