I had always heard that COD4 was equal on the PS3 and 360. Also that the PS3 version doesn't use the P2P setup that the 360 uses so there's actually less lag. I don't know if this is true, I only had the 360 and PC versions (PC after I sold back the significantly crappier-looking and laggy 360 version) but with my 2 free months of Live I noticed an unacceptable amount of lag for a service supposedly worth $40-50 a year.

howzabout... trophies and achievements BOTH suck because they ruin immersion with their stupid f@cking blips and notifications that CAN'T BE TURNED OFF. Whichever system first offers the option to turn that sh!t off is the system i'll defend like a one-testicled fanboy until the next generation.
Wow, really? That kind of upsets me actually, because the difference is pretty obvious for me. Maybe there was something wrong with the PS3 version I had? Sometimes you buy games that are just bad copies.
Well whatever, I settled for the PC version like I usually do with better graphics than both consoles :-)
It's okay, the game looks like sh!t on 360 anyway. Though there ARE times when it makes the Unreal Engine sing more than Gears does. But for the most part it looks like crap.
In all fairness, I've owned Assassin's Creed on both 360 and PS3 and it looks significantly worse on PS3. The textures have a lower resolution and the framerate is lower. I borrowed it on 360 from a friend, then I went and bought it on PS3 and I was pretty pissed at the noticeable downgrade. Bullsh!t on Ubisoft's part.

I could see some legitimacy in the argument that Halo 3 has been on top of Live charts recently because there haven't been a lot of big releases in a while, but this is just too extreme.

I feel like this is a hidden price increase. SD slot, camera, bigger screen, a few new software features, what else? Nothing worth $40 over the other ds's. DS lite was due for a price drop, they shouldve brought this in at $130 instead, but it's nintendo and they know people will reach FAR up their @$$ to find the money. Sony should really put their new PSP at the $130 price point, it'd be a smart move for them.
i'm more interested in versus because of what they say about Hamlet. hopefully the final fantasy series will finally pull itself out of a 13 game-long puberty. not likely though, but i'll at least gamefly it if the combat is real-time. i used to be interested in 13 but the more i see the less i care. it's so awkward seeing those beautiful character models sitting around in turn-based combat, queuing up moves and waiting to give or take damage.
man, why'd you have to go and start that? now every douchebag who holds allegiance to one console or another is gonna come out of the woodwork. it's gonna be the same, for gods sake, it's just likely that the 360 version will have more discs. and im not saying that to knock it because i really dont care about disc swapping. i've never stuck with a 360 jrpg long enough to get past the first disc, anyway. the genre is just SO stale. and 13 really looks like its following that trend.

although hopefully they'll put out some REAL motion controlled games that are actually fun and groundbreaking instead of 6 IR lights that make you think the wii can sense what you're doing when it's really just guessing. why do a good job when you can make people pay for a peripheral (motion plus) that will ACTUALLY do what the wii was supposed to do years ago?

The real crime is getting charged $2000 for a computer. Macs may be cool and popular but good lord are they expensive. My gaming PC can *almost* run Crysis on high and it cost me $300 to make. I wish notebooks were as easy to build as desktops.
oo! oo! or how bout when you go on the website and use credit from trade-ins on an edge card to pay for things the 'estimated tax' is suspiciously higher than the exact same purchase made with a credit card instead? that's always fun.
I really don't think God of War 3 is coming this year. All others (including Chains of Olympus) were put out in March, I really don't think they're going to squeeze it into this year. It's best that they take their time with it and polish it, get that 1080p native running smoothly. Hopefully they stick to their guns on that :-)

I dunno man, this site used to break rumors early that tended to turn out to be true. They recently made the switch and publicly stated they weren't going to leak news out before Sony wanted it, but they definitely have some solid connections inside Sony and tend to get hold of info before a lot of other, more mainstream sites do.
But I'll admit, it DOES feel a bit more legitimate coming from 1up.
I like exclusives because the developers can focus on the game instead of trying to optimize it for everything (though that didn't seem to work in favor of Mass Effect 360). I understand how people can get jealous when their system is missing out on great titles, but I gotta say, I absolutely love having both systems because you get the best of both worlds and you're never bored. Bring on the exclusives!
