I was hoping they were going to include the dx11 renderer in this demo, but oh well, it's nice knowing first-hand that I can run this really well on the high dx9 settings. I'm guessing that when they ship the game with individual, detailed graphics settings that the highest possible dx9 settings will look even better than that. At least I can always revert back to that when that dx11 tessellation starts tearing my gpu a new @$$hole.
does anyone know if they're u...
i remember yerli saying in an interview that it was a solid 30 on both consoles
my pc's butt hurts just from thinking about it. i recently got a hydro cooler and cranked my i5 2.8ghz up to 4ghz, and i have a 1gb gtx460 and 4gb of ddr3. im hoping i can pull medium on dx11. though i plan on getting another 460 later this year (hopefully when the price comes down) and hooking up some SLI
you should be good. i don't know AMD that well but it seems like you're a little above the "recommended" category
what an awesome news day
heh heh heh, you just wasted $60
i'm curious about the console versions too, especially because they said the PC version won't run on DX9, and i know the 360 uses a specialized version of DX9. but this split-second montage of gameplay is enough to make me happy i upgraded to windows 7
thank god. all they need to do now is stop charging $60 for PC games. even ubisoft went back to $50 for AC Brotherhood.
nvidia control panel, here i come.
and they're charging $60 for the PC version?
galactic's on the soundtrack? shibby!! nola baby
that's awesome! i love me some genesis. *glances at avatar*
i.. um... well, i uh... um.. so... WHAT!?
yeah, basically, at least for valve games. valve released the left4dead dlc for free on pc, and they wanted to on 360 but MS wouldn't let them. the point of this, for them, is that they're in charge of their own updates on the ps3 version-- so if they release an update with free dlc for portal 2 on steam, they control that update on ps3 as well, instead of having to pass it through an xbox live-like certification (which infuriated them in the past).
edit: AKA-- if ...
i have a feeling it'll be a while before other developers/publishers go along with it, but hopefully we'll start seeing people jump on board after the next few valve games use it. i hope they're smart enough to realize that they won't lose sales by doing this-- it's very unlikely that, if i own a ps3 and pc, that i'll buy a given game for both platforms. especially if i can't transfer my save game from my couch/tv to my desk/pc, which this version of steamworks a...
i'm a huge fan of steam and steamworks, especially steamcloud because i game on a couple different computers. however, if i didn't buy games through steam almost exclusively, something like this would infuriate me. i wish there was an option to register the game with steam and receive achievements within the game itself (akin to what blizzard does with SC2) without being forced to install the entire program on your computer and start steam each time you play the game.
honestly, i don't think this year's call of duty stands a chance-- in terms of quality. sales, yeah, it's going to destroy everything simply because of the brand name-- but in terms of quality as a multiplayer shooter? I think Brink and Battlefield 3 will be duking it out for top dog. I don't even think COD will be able to hold its own against Killzone 3 and Crysis 2, if it follows the pattern of "evolution" that COD has followed since number 4.
UGGGH that sucks, i'm definitely sticking with my droid x now. hopefully the playstation suite will let me play all those ps1 games i bought, at least.
that's dx9 MEDIUM? jeebus
dx9 32 bit.. even if it's maxed out in these shots, it's clearly going to look way better than this when maxed out with dx11 and access to more than 2gb of ram
i feel like the larger press will be lauding rockstar with praise if this succeeds and team bondi will hardly get a nod. i almost feel bad for them already. i'm sure it benefited them to have rockstar as a publisher, both in terms of budget and press, i just hope the core development team gets the credit they deserve.
