i played the preview build a few months back on my PC. playing the first deus ex for the first time is one of my fondest gaming memories, and i was completely elated to find that the game FEELS like deus ex. i find it hard to compare it to anything else. sure, you could compare shooting mechanics to any other shooter or stealth mechanics to any other stealth game, but in terms of the overall feel and the package as a whole? it's deus ex. and it's awesome. at least the few hours ...
i can aaaaaalmost max it out (minus ubersampling). i mean i CAN, but it doesn't play at a comfortable frame rate. i plan on going SLI for battlefield 3 (assuming i have the money), so ill probably be tempted to replay it yet again lol.
what kind of rig are you building?
i still haven't stopped playing this game.
yeah, there's tons of mods that will raise your level cap or otherwise alter the leveling progression (perk every level, perk every 3 levels, etc). at least in fallout 3 and vegas-- i never modded oblivion.
and i heard them say that with skyrim they'll be doing fewer, yet much bigger, dlc releases; more akin to the old school expansion packs that we got in the PC glory days. that made me happy.
good call. i completely ruined the first mass effect for myself by following every drip of information that seeped out. i made the conscious decision to completely starve myself of knowledge about mass effect 2, and it totally blew me away.
wow, interesting. though from what i've heard, Europe's prices tend to fluctuate more in situations like this than they do in the US. regardless, it's definitely worth looking into. thanks!
oh don't get me wrong, i'll DEFINITELY get my money's worth. it's just an unfortunate trend as of late.
anyone else pissed off that the PC version is $60?
wow, just today at work i was thinking, "i wonder if anyone has started remaking any of the old duke nukem games in cryengine". touche, innernetz
interesting! thanks for sharing this. this gives me hope. frankly, i'll be getting the game regardless-- i mean, bf3 was a large chunk of the reason i built a sexy dx11 rig to begin with-- i just really want it to be on steam so i can play the multi and co-op with my friends.
RAM! even in 2005/6 having 512mb of RAM was a terrible idea.
this seriously blows. all the people i'd wanna play with aren't gonna get it now-- not because they refuse to, just because we all network on steam, we all join each others games and set up invites on steam, these guys are simply just not going to care about it if it isn't on steam-- not cuz they're fanboys or anything, just cuz they'll say "meh". hell, half of them probably won't even realize when it's out. they'll just keep playing CSS, L4D, day ...
he'll always be carth to me, dammit
*purchases*
just got n64oid for my phone, ill have to try some of these out. i remember wanting winback SO BADLY back in the day, but i guess it just kind of slipped from my mind entirely and i still have yet to play it.
speaking of vanquish, i was eyeing it recently.. worth $20?
im glad the ammo is scarce, it forces you to think. that's how the first game was too. it'd break the game if you could just blow through it without having to worry about ammo.
sounds like you and i have the same gpu and cpu, army. you using an i5? i was able to crank mine up to 4.2ghz with no issues. those things like it rough. i kind of jumped the gun upgrading to 8gb of RAM though, i kind of wish i had waited for the super fast and uber-overclockable dimms to come down in price.
god damn the sound is FANTASTIC
i'd swap out reach with alan wake.
