i agree with you, but the state of games journalism is so sad these days that you can basically assume that any media outlet with a decent amount of popularity has taken the bribe. it's good to know which review you can read without having to assume that the reviewer was given 'incentive' for a positive review.

supposedly one of the big causes of crashes is that the engine fragments the data it stores in your RAM. the solution that's worked best for me (and also worked for my friend who's been playing) is a program called gamebooster by a company called iobit-- you can find it on their website and it's totally free. it shuts down a bunch of non-essential windows processes when you're in 'game mode' and cleans and defrags your RAM. im with you. the bugs are annoying, but anyone with a little patience can get past it. there's more than a handful of really classic fallout moments, and it definitely has that soul that fallout 3 lacked.

interesting thing i noticed about the chip.. i was looking at it very closely the other day and i noticed morse code etched into each side of the chip. i decided to find a translator and see what the code came out to-- it's all numbers, and on one side it says 232077. on the other, 112281. on the first side, the little roulette ball is in the 10 slot, giving you 10 23...
i wouldn't call vice city a gta3 expansion, it's the same principle. i think this is much more of a "fallout 3" than fallout 3 was, fallout 3 turned a blind eye to a lot of the events in the history of fallout and basically said "brotherhood of steel! enclave! super mutants! you remember this stuff from the 90s!" and threw it all in a DC setting with a feeble narrative connection to why some of those groups were even on that side of the country to begin with.
obviously trading the digital games back into steam for credit could get really complicated, but i don't see why they couldn't allow users to trade with each other. if i were to trade fallout new vegas in exchange for day of defeat with my friend, it doesn't matter if the dollar value of the games are different, it still counts as one copy of new vegas sold and one copy of day of defeat sold. it doesn't affect the developer or publisher at all, only which steam account has t...
