the indoctrination theory is the only possible explanation that makes sense. to be honest, i don't even see how the current ending could've gotten approved unless the indoctrination theory were true.

*spoilers*

^^ it's because the explanation of the reason for the cycles is bullshit to begin with, it's all in shepard's head and the explanation is just harbinger trying to trick shepard. it's a clever ending in its own right, the problem is that it doesn't actually wrap anything up or resolve the central conflict of the series. what i'm worried about is how EA is going to try to milk the franchise going forward, since the reaper war isn't actua...

spoilers for the first fallout

I'll admit that I never played fallout 1 and 2 until after 3 got me into the series (which then allowed me to realize what a misfit 3 feels like in the fallout series). When I played the first one, I arrived at junktown, and after talking to some NPC's I realized that the gangster casino owner was basically running the town. Before even talking to the sheriff, I decided I was going to make him extra happy. I walked straight into the b...

I disagree with the author-- not about the indoctrination theory, because I personally think that's the case, but about the ending to the real conflict being sold via DLC. I think it'll actually be the basis for the next game, and depending on what happens to your shepard, he/she can either be an antagonist (if indoctrinated), an NPC (or even a party member with behavior based on your paragon/renegade distribution, that'd be sweet), or simply not there if you chose the 'red&#...

Headtracking is already easily possible, it's just that no one throws it in. I downloaded a half life 2 mod that uses it with any webcam, and while it's the project of a tech student and not really set up for "gaming", I still really enjoyed it. Tilting my head for iron sights, turning left and right to peak around corners, moving my head forward to zoom in with a scope-- it all felt natural and it seems relatively easy for a developer to implement. I have a feeling we...

Yeah, I think I see quite an ingenious plan coming together. If this is the case, of course. And yeah, if they charge for a real-ending DLC, they'll be caught in an even bigger shitstorm. I also hope they don't, say, keep things unresolved as an excuse to use the reaper war as a setting for an MMO. I'd like whatever game that follows this to be a mass effect-style RPG that actually answers questions (namely what the true intention of the reapers are. obviously what the child/...

Spoilers for ME (obviously)

I'm much more okay with the ending after researching the whole shepard is indoctrinated theory. It's the only thing that makes sense, it has to be what they intended. My only problem with it is that it doesn't actually reveal anything; the intention of the reapers is still a mystery, the conflict hasn't been resolved, the war is still ongoing, etc. It'll be interesting to see how the next game picks things up, and whether we&...

My strategy is to pick the crafting skill I want, grab the gathering and mission skills that go with it, but grab slicing instead of the crafting skill. Level up slicing as quickly as you can while also leveling the other skills when possible, then you'll have a massive amount of funds and materials to use and you can ditch the maxed out slicing for the crafting skill. It's worked pretty well on a couple characters for me.

Well they replaced it with something to try to compensate.. if they hadn't done that, they'd probably have gotten in legal trouble.

Unfortunately, this would actually make sense. That where Mass Effect 3 ends isn't the actual conclusion of the story.

the only way it could work is if it was set in a games decades before the books take place, completely separate in everything but the universe. the idea of a sort of survival/combat sandbox set up as a hunger games appeals to me, and i'm confident that someone could do it well if they took the time, but none of the big publishers would take the risk of tackling a big budget game that centers around killing children.

I don't think they're owned by EA, I think EA just snatched up the deal for Respawn's game/IP. I remember hearing something along those lines. Don't take my word for it though.

i seriously hope not, it was looking incredible.

That's right, there's a huge outcry for a survival horror oriented RE game because no one wants it. All of us fans jumped on board when you took the action-blockbuster route with 5, that's why absolutely no one was disappointed with it.

That's right, the players are idiots because the end of a game doesn't make logical sense.

that really sucks. konami can't even respect the art produced by people in their own company? the game's rated M, there's plenty of content warnings on the box. jesus.
