Sony was already established in the electronic market with a very trusted brand. They also took advantage of Nintendo's costly endeavor of cartridges (for the N64) who were actually working with Sony to come out with a CD drive add-on for the SNES. They failed to come to an agreement on control and Sony decided to have their own console later on. The rest is history.
Sony also wisely partnered itself with 3rd party developers who were not happy being ruled under Nintendo....

We know you don't like Microsoft, we know you rarely if ever say anything positive about the Xbox 360 but to suggest Halo ODST was 2-3 hours is trolling. It's about 6 hours. Yes it's still rather short but not nearly as bad as you would like others to believe because you have some sort of agenda against anything regarding the Xbox 360.

That's not really what this topic is about. If you read the article the author wants to know which 20 titles he should keep from the original Xbox. I myself would only play about 6-10 games that were only on the Xbox again. Of course you have your classics like the first Halo but I also enjoyed some others like Crimson Skies and Mechassault. But those 2 games were more fun online.

Of course there's room for both. Sony would also want to utilize E3 to advertise Vita more. What Sony has also done, that Nintendo doesn't do with the 3DS, is market how Vita is a supportive device with the console. Does the 3DS have remote play? Does the 3DS have cross-platform play between that and the Wii U? Does Nintendo have a service like Playstation Plus that has free games for both the handheld and the PS3 tied to the same price model?

It's close to E3 so I expect at least a few games but not too many. They will save most of it for E3. We'll probably get to see the system and they will talk about some of the features. They may also at that time unveil some of their partnerships. I'm expecting a demo of Battlefield 4 and some sort of exclusive deal. I don't expect new ip's at this event but rather at E3.
