I'm sure people on here thought Kinect was going to fail and Vita was going to do very well.
Nobody knows what the average consumer is going to buy. Every year we hear a storm of people saying don't buy Call of Duty, yet what's the number one franchise year after year on the Xbox and Playstation?
"Quote from the article:
"Take a look at the third question again. Do you know what Sony's policy for pre-owned games is going to be? I don't. The best CVG's bloodhound of an editor could extract from Michael Denny, Sony's VP of Worldwide Studios after the PS4 reveal, was some bluster about doing "the right thing" by consumers and developers. Cool! Beyond that, Sony has largely got away scot-free ever since."
Exactly. ...
Not sure how my comment was off-topic. People like videogame versions of sports for many reasons as I listed. It's much easier to get a match going than to get the proper amount to play a real game. You can play anytime with a videogame, even in the middle of the night. You can play with millions of other people. You can do things most people normally can't do. You don't risk injuries.
There are a ton of reasons and I'm not sure why you couldn't see that?...
1. Some people don't like Kinect being mandatory or that it always has to be connected.
2. They don't like the restrictions on used games
3. They didn't see many games
4. They don't like it has to be connected at least every 24 hours.
E3 should erase the #3 concern.
Hopefully both Microsoft and Sony (who have also not gone into full detail) go into GREAT detail about the used game scenarios. #...
Don't buy the new system, problem solved. If people want to buy the Xbox One let them. You always seem offended if people buy things you want to fail.
We need competition. Do you honestly think the PS3 came down in price so quickly because Sony cares about you? Do you think they invested so much into PSN because of no competition?
If the PS4 provides you with your needs then why do you waste so much of your time worried about what else others are going to...
insomnium2, think about it for a second. Kinect right now is what, a hundred bucks? The Xbox 360 cost how much right now, $200 bucks? Why would $500 be unreasonable for a much improved Kinect that was $150 when the first one came out and a next gen console with 8GB of ram and a bluray player? The PS3 is likely to be $400 or more and it may not come with their new camera. A PS3 which pales in comparison to the PS4 and Xbox One cost $250 right now so it's not unreasonable to think the Xbox ...
gaffyh, why should I trust you? They were also very vague on the exact details. They too are trying to finalize everything. Something is going on behind the scenes we don't know about yet. Sony also adopted online passes so it's not something out of reach for them to do something that locks the content to your account.
They showed a new ip from Remedy. They showed Forza 5, they showed the new Call of Duty, they showed UFC, FIFA, NFL and NBA from EA Sports. They aren't games? They mentioned the first year alone will have 15 exclusives, 8 of which are brand new ip's. They mentioned they have invested 1 billion dollars into game studios they have invested in as of late as well.
After E3 then talk, until then Microsoft already mentioned this was more about unveiling the actual system. S...
Because the Xbox brand has always been about entertainment. Never did Microsoft say it would only just play games. Sony also has music and video services. They also have MLB and other subscription models. You think bluray was all about games on the PS3? No, it was to also support their entertainment divisions like HDTV's and promote 3D. Isn't the PS3 also the number one console for watching Netflix?
You can have all of these services and provide games. E3 will be abo...
I guess you forgot to mention the new ip from Remedy? A new Forza game on new hardware. We will witness a 1st party racing game on next gen consoles. What about Call of Duty Ghosts? Is that not a game or are you suggesting PS3 owners don't like Call of Duty?
Microsoft has invested 1 billion dollars into game studios making Xbox One games. That's 1 billion. In the first year we will see 15 exclusives, 8 of which will be brand new ip's. How about we wait until E3 wh...
They have invested 1 billion dollars into GAME studios. Not media, not music, but GAME studios. They will also have 15 exclusives in the first year alone, 8 of which are brand new ip's. Plus all the well known publishers like Activision, EA, and Konami (yes, that was Hideo Kojima in that video showing support of the system).
Why don't you wait until E3 where they said time and time again that's when they will shower us with games before you go on your crusade on h...
Sony was also vague. What we have here are publishers like EA trying to change those policies. Things are likely to be worse for Microsoft because some of those policies will have to deal with cable providers. They are worse to deal with than game publishers.
Sony made these same exact comments, they too are waiting before finalizing used games and how they will be utilized. This is one big cluster**** but we will know the full details well before these systems get released....
Makes no sense at all. Not everyone can run a field back and forth for 90 minutes and not be totally exhausted. Not everyone can kick a ball that well. Not everyone can do corner kicks like that. Not everyone wants to play outside in the rain or in the middle of the night. Not everyone can get that amount of people to play a real game that easily.
Just stop.
He also said before that the Call of Duty timed exclusive stuff wouldn't be carrying over into next gen because Activision likes money too much.
LOGICWINS, this guy will carry on and on trying to paint the dimmest picture possible for Microsoft no matter what happens.
They announce 15 exclusives but hey, let's turn that into a negative too. They won't be able to market them properly, they will be Kinect games, they all be XBLA games. On and on he goes.
This guy is on a roll, he'll be posting non-stop for the next 24 hours trying to make the event look as bad as possible. You see, some people seem to thrive on negativity. It actually makes them happy believe it or not.
They showed a new game by Remedy. Response,...
Of course, anything positive must be a conspiracy.
That's the second comment Root and so far the only thing you said about the preview is the fish. Is that really contributing to the topic? You seem to have this desire instead to bash the franchise no matter what they do with it. It's got a new engine, it's got stellar graphics, it's got a whole new direction with new characters, it's got a new story being written by an Oscar screenwriter, it will have all new multiplayer elements. The list goes on but you want to focus on...
So basically you have no comment at all about the new game but instead want to continue hating the series just for the sake of it?
The game looked awesome. A new engine with excellent detail, all running at 60fps. You hear that, 60fps. It's also being written by an Oscar screenwriter but hey, let's talk about how stale the old games are instead and not even comment on this being a new direction on a new engine.

DarkHeroZX,
We don't know the full details just yet. Sony never fully explained the situation either. We already see online passes for all 1st party games on the PS3, who's to say they don't up the ante? They too said the PS4 will play used games but never clarified if it's going to have an authentication process or if games will be tied to your account.

"What if come E3 where MS shows off titles which aren't much of an improvement over current titles"
They already showed Call of Duty running on the Xbox One side by side from last gen to the new one and the differences were night and day.
