I mean, I’m cool with just awesome exclusives…. Games are how I choose a console. I want the best, and Sony has given the best for some time now.
Then I’d suggest spreading out sequels by at least 3-5 years, and just find ways to improve the sequel. When sequels are sparse, a modest amount of meaningful improvements/additions are enough for fans. It’s about quality over quantity of changes.
Halo 2 and 3 were great sequels because they improved on the previous entry without losing their identity. Franchises have difficulty with this lately because studios don’t have THEIR OWN visions for the sequel that necessitate...
I thought R6 zombies was a joke when I saw it. The event was fun, but I’m not gonna pay for PvE R6 that isn’t even realistic.
This is why Ghost Recon Frontline was ratio’d away: “Tom Clancy” translates to “military sim” to your fanbase. Stop watering down that realism, or drop the “Tom Clancy” branding. It really is that easy… how many marketing people at Ubisoft get paid over $100k and couldn’t figure that out? Ffs it’s super obvious….

They won’t and they don’t need to yet.
They will need to start converting once AAA output meets 4 games/year as promised. And as much as I love my ps5, I also know that Zenimax will make games that I NEED to play. But they haven’t yet, so I’ll wait until then to start hunting for a series X. Im certainly not going through all of that trouble to play Game Pass games at 120 hrz…. What a lame upgrade imo.

What’s the motivation to buy a $500 series X, 120 hrz BC and Game Pass? That might be cool for some, but I couldn’t care less about either feature. And im glad that Infinite will be available on the Xbone so that I don’t need to upgrade, but that is one less reason to need a series X, too.
I don’t see momentum actually building for the series X this holiday, they’ll coast on whatever momentum they already have. I’m sure Microsoft will survive until Starfield releases, so...
I will play Infinite on my Xbone for free, and play everything else on my ps5.
Until there’s a game that I can’t play on my Xbone or ps5, I have no reason to think about a sX/S.
Starfield might change that in a year, or Doom pt.3 might grab my attention one day (I hope they stay multiplat for the series, since it started that way.).

Xbox has no excuse, aside from they had less studios than Sony or Nintendo before their Zenimax buy.
But they were able to make Gears and Halo 1-3 with their studios, so they simply have ZERO excuse for the Xbone being the most boring console to own of the last decade.
But that doesn’t mean their success isn’t needed. If Sony didn’t blow people away with the ps4, then the XsX/S could have just rested on Game Pass. But the PS4 ...
Considering how long ago they bought Zenimax, I’m hoping for some promising teasers (and pessimistic about seeing any neat gameplay).

As someone who chose Halo 2 over the PS2’s massive library, I cannot wait for M$ to get all of their franchises running on full steam.
My ps5 is a blast, but I hope it gets some strong competition out of the Zenimax deal. Somebody needs to keep Sony sharp.
The gameplay looks great, but the graphics don’t hold a candle to the DS remake of ps5. That surprised me.

I’m enjoying 8 more than 7, but I’m also playing 8 on Hard…. I think that matters. The first combat section was excruciating, but it’s been a fun challenge ever since.

‘Every resource’, lol, that’s the kinda hard data point that wins debates. ‘Every resource’ doesn’t amount to ‘miracles’, and they were NOT given ‘every resource’. They were given 3 years to make a game, not 5+. I’d expect more if we were waiting longer, but we weren’t, so I don’t.
Before you set your expectations so high, maybe look around for another dev...
I’ve enjoyed them, and I chose OG Xbox over PS2. Xbox just had better games, at the time. It’s a shame times have changed, because I used to enjoy Xbox’s output more.
