Cos I like my enemies to behave like creatures with a sense of self preservation. It adds to the illusion. Seeing an enemy take poor cover behind something too small, or seeing an enemy run into danger, these AI mistakes are just as bad to me as a character model being stuck in their default T-pose.

“Enemies aren't smart or challenging enough to warrant planning or care a lot of the time”

^^my #1 reason for skipping any game that released in the last decade. I never want to walk through a game without having to think or try. Doom Eternal is certainly a power trip, but in contrast they baked in enough game mechanics to keep the power trip challenging and engaging.

Who enjoys stomping an entire island of enemies that all never, ever stood a chanc...

It is smart of Sony to make it free this month, because Halo Infinite is going to be basically “free” on game pass to every Xbox owner in a few months. It looks good online, we might return to the ps2vsXbox dynamic.

I hope Sony finally figures out how to compete with multiplayer again. MAG and Socom were their last prized franchises, and they are long gone.

I hope LoU2’s mp is a game changer.

I’m going to write so much.

I loved the buildup to breaking into the weapons manufacture. The planning over sushi in the city made me think the game was going to be special.

It ended up feeling pretty incomplete soon after. I feel like they took on a bigger scope than they could ever achieve in under 10 years.

Was Sony in danger of losing Insomniac and Bluepoint silent unofficial partnerships to the M$ acquisitions? Idk, I doubt it I guess. If anything, M$ pressured Sony to commit on paper with more studios. Sony couldn’t risk the losses.

You might have to think over a few hallways for the older games, but that is being done right now for Dead Space.

And for your second point, I guess they could not have lasers?

I’m not saying it would be an “easy” copy paste job, but it could absolutely be done in a profitable manner. Or, they could just make another pachinko machine.

I kinda hope they get to do their own IP soon. Their remasters are perfect, but I’m sure they have some cool innovations of their own up their sleeve, too.
