Considering how well CoD sells even when nobody likes it, they might be right. The annual purchase of CoD is inevitable for alotta gamers.

When threats prevent you from posting an update roadmap (something most studios due without issue, assuming they are confident in meeting their proposed milestones on-time), the terrorists win.
That sucks 343 received threats, but didn’t their lack of a roadmap precede this? They’ve been afraid of due dates ever since they had to postpone launch by a year.

From a marketing standpoint, I think MGS did more than FF to bridge the gap between Japanese and Western tastes in games.

On paper, it should sell well, but anybody being critical of the gameplay reveals will wisely wait for reviews.
I’m just not sold on the game’s fun-factor yet. Maybe I’ll feel differently after hearing about how it feels to play.
What are the dev’s “art design” and “visual preferences”? Choppy frame rates, stilted animations, and weapon and traversal effects that clash with the tone of the environment?
Do you have a source for that? I wouldn’t be too surprised, but I also do see alotta PS branding for the game right now. It can be tough to discern the level of exclusivity nowadays…
And even when it does, it was designed for the Dualsense first, so some cool features will be omitted for Xbox and pc versions (ie haptic throughout for when the cat purrs vs just the Xbox’s triggers, adaptive triggers for clawing at carpets and couches, and a speaking for meowing and purring...
I don’t like quick resume because it limits my video recording time and download speed. IMO, SSDs load games perfectly fast enough without it. Then again, I also care very much about capturing more than 3 minutes of footage at a time (every boss fight is longer than 3 minutes).
I mean, they are both cat games like Avengers and Spider-Man are both superhero games.
The similarities kinda stop at the surface.

I loved that GTA always attacked from all sides. Alotta people will claim this, but few sincerely live up to that.
Ffs, they even had different radio/news stations for different regions to depict the existence of media bubbles in America…. I literally didn’t take this aspect of our culture seriously until 2016, but GTA has been highlighting it for decades.

CoD has not deserved to be the top seller every year, but they have been.
