@Sully, you show your bias when you knock that controller. Xbox invests in everything they can to compensate for the one sector they consistently struggle (games).

Xbox has a ton of controller designs and customization options, and ps5 has like 5 colors for their otherwise superior controllers.

The triggers are freaking clear.

It’s what they are *currently* attempting.

They already have THE most studios after Zenimax.

And, the ABK deal stands to be THE biggest *media* purchase EVER.

What’s with all this future tense?

I owned an OG Xbox over a PS2, even though the PS2 was much more popular and cheaper.

I thought the Xbox library was better than the PS2’s, even if it was smaller. This was largely because the Xbox hardware was stronger; and as it should’ve been, it cost 50% more, but was certainly worth it.

Sony never let Xbox have a stronger console since, and the average cost of a console has increased, too.

I didn’t care about PS3 until Bungie diss...

They wouldn’t have to re-acquire Bungie if they didn’t have continuous internal problems with game development and talent attrition…

Why did they want to try and kill that golden goose again?

Xbox’s second strategy, behind buying exclusives last minute out of desperation, is to struggle to release AAA games in 6 years or less…. That’s important to manage if you wanna launch games on their intended generation of consoles.

GoW3 will likely be my only Platinum…

….Still wish Ragnarok managed to live up to the scale of the series.

If it’s MGS, then there will be multiple options.

Oh good, now we have a perfectly clear picture of everything said privately ever.

Everybody knows that “vol 1” is a veiled indicator of an inevitable “vol 2”

MGS4 and PW are coming.

I’m more concerned with Wolfenstein 3.

They’re lobbying for you to make your own games, instead of just buying up all of the Western talent and IPs.

No way….

I don’t think any showcase was mind blowing…. Xbox just had the most to prove.

I play my ps5 ten times as often at my XsX, but Starfield could keep me busy for a few years.

Albeit, I have both systems as options. I’m just glad to have SOMETHING for my XsX.

1/10 sounds about right…. Basically mimics the rate of our solar system, which is better than mimicking reality imo.

961d ago 2 agree6 disagreeView comment

Agreed…. It’s one thing to make something like Mario, and want to leverage it for all it’s worth…

…and it’s another thing to buy the biggest franchise ever out of desperation.

We benefit from the former, not the latter.

This is the equivalent of throwing games in football to get the best draft pick next year, except with much larger immutable ramifications.

Xbox lost because they didn’t make enviable games after CliffyB left Gears, unless you really loved Forza…

Xbox doesn’t deserve to buy back into the market with THE biggest *media* purchase EVER, because Xbox hasn’t demonstrated an ability to do what Sony and Nintendo manage just fine: consistently develop enviable AA...

rlow1, 2 of those 3 were from deals with Sony before the acquisition. Sony wanted as many games as possible to show off the Dualsense at launch, so Deathloop and Ghostwire were made to specifically take advantage of the haptics, adaptive triggers, and controller speaker.

They weren’t gifts.

Minecraft is probably kept multiplatform for profit more than anything… it’s easy access doesn’t feel like a gift to the gaming community.
