Her shirt is red too…
Don’t we have Live available right now?
That ending is NOT perfect… nor are the enemies introduced in chapter 3.
That one boss though is pretty perfect…
Agreed, I usually prioritize AAAs first, but I do try to appreciate a good AA game. Sometimes a lower budget game can have a bigger impact on a player than one with a huge budget, and new studios should naturally start with that goal.
I just get the impression that articles like these are paid for by M$ to make it seem like Sony’s game output is unreasonable to compete with…. But Sony’s success with AAAs seems evidence of the precise opposite.
I think M$...
I was a huge fan of Dead Space, but this game never lived up to those standards for me.
The graphics were stellar, but the mechanics amounted to a trial and error cycle from checkpoint to checkpoint.
I watched the dev diaries, and expected a polished experience from moment to moment.
Instead, I felt like several checkpoints were never reviewed by a director.
I hope they get a chance to try again, because they definite...
Game Pass @$15/month and four AAAs a year isn’t sustainable.
But, that’s also M$’ problem to figure out. Let them.
Sony seems to be doing fine with their ROI’s, so how unsustainable is it really?
They get the investment because of their past output.
Their budgets have grown over time because their visions and work output have both grown over time.
If you wanna make a game with a quarter billion budget, then your options are:
1. Win the lottery, and decide to invest it all into a single vision of yours.
2. Earn a publisher’s trust and interest in your work by making several games that consistently sell well, and do so with increas...
Imagine if M$ didn’t panic acquire Zenimax a couple years ago…. Then what game would we be waiting on?
Perfect Dark?
What goes around…
It’s difficult to believe M$ at this point.
Soooo they know when the next PS5 sku is coming, but they don’t know when they’ll start living up to their lofty promise of 4 AAAs a year on Game Pass…
Noted, Phil.
But… sliders.
I’m sure the greatest value won’t possibly hold back the “strongest”.
@Crows90
I think the Earth cracking from 2018’s first boss fight matches the frozen lightning bolt of the first Thor fight.
Nothing compared to 2018’s set pieces like flipping of the world tree thing, or the traversing of the frozen giant.
And, the ending had a giant looming over you and shooting stuff, and casting cool shadows as you fought.
OG GoW games had giant staircases leading to boss or mini bosses….Ragnorak c...
2018 had large scale stuff too, but Ragnarok didn’t…
You mean the campaign DLC teased as a credit cookie for MW2?
I’m surprised to see the Series S having almost 50% new Xboxers….
PS5 basically boasted that same data point, and I assumed that was fueled by former Xboxers jumping ship…
So who is flocking to the Xbox for the first time, now? Switch kids finally old enough for their parents to let them play CoD?
Sooooo then why limit your deal with Sony to 10 years, hmm?
It’s a good Plan B if your game isn’t selling….
I just question how M$ will output 4 AAA games a year, have 100ish 3rd party games available, and not let the sub price balloon to $25+ a month…
….or start squeezing devs harder in the future if they want a “bailout” for their game that isn’t selling. I bet devs get paid out less for their work if Game Pass started maintaining traction without crazy $1 promotions.
….split screen for an RPG?
