“Spider-man” brand recognition + being a pseudo-sequel to the best selling Sony PS4 exclusive + being cheaper than most new games since it’s not the same scale as the OG Spider-Man game + being the most hyped launch title for a console that has been perpetually sold out + the Miles Morales movie that did very well recently (and their in-game skin is the best part of the game, imo) = it was destined to be THE game that everybody bought.
In contrast, Last of Us 2 is a misera...
Lol, what bubble. No PS4 owner is under the delusion that the PS4 is magic. They just know that they will always release great games to EVERY console they sell. Brand-loyalty was earned by Sony. I certainly know what console gaming is like outside of the bubble on Xbox: M$ is pushing game pass instead of AAA games of their own.
M$ needs more subs. Try to redeem and Xbox Live Gold code, and see what happens. They don’t want any “just Live Gold” subs anymore.
1) I don’t like to research games to see if they’re worth their full launch-price.
2) I don’t like to ever pay full-price for a AAA game, because I think they should cost $50 (based on nothing).
3) I don’t care if M$ doubles the price of basic Live services to $10/month in order to artificially create a better value proposal for Game Pass at $15/month (I recently bought a code for 12 months of Live for $60, but the code mysteriously instead unlocks only a few months of Game ...
Idk if any console is worth it at launch. I love my ps5, but it’s a luxury at the point.
I love Days Gone, but it shipped in shit condition. I think Sony likes a good first impression from ALL of ts first-party studios.
Bend Studios could afford to be more humble if they’re blaming their publisher’s judgement for them not getting the greenlight for a sequel.
Earn the trust.
Aaaand this is why their expanding their market with the sS and game pass. I know I don’t want it, but I’m also not the target market.
I hope m$’ marketing team gets credit for this pivot. It ain’t grabbing me, but I’m sure it’ll grab some of the Nintendo market as older kids start favoring shooters over Mario
I’m happy they’re making profits. They took a big risk self-publishing, but clearly they were right: they know how to sell 6 levels for $60. And it sounds like their last publisher didn’t believe it was possible. Who could blame them? I think you need to be a genuine fan of the franchise in order to understand how it’s really the only way to go for Hitman. We fans would trade 100 linear Hitman levels for 1 gigantic level.
Yep, he only gave me twice as many 10’s from 1st party studios this gen than last gen (IMO)
I’m REALLY hurting without Days Gone 2 and Killzone Infinite...
Yep, it’s nice for now, but I think they only developed this capability to match Xbox
How about just giving us 30 fps + RT. Lock it at 30, and we’re good.
““We don’t have two projects that have several hundred people on them. We have one [project] and then some that are in pre-production, or maybe just creeping out of pre-production, but will have to wait until the main focus has completed before we move everybody off of that project.”
“We’ve got principle employees now, we’ve just promoted a bunch of VPs as well, we’re adding more leads… something that we’ve traditionally done on productions in the past is our leads and dire...
Niice, I’m sure it’ll sell well just because PC players will wanna see how well their rig can run it. It was amazing that is ever ran on the PS4
You know what Sony’s roots are? Devs give Sony options, and Sony picks which option to go with.
ND’s first pick for a ps3 launch title wasn’t Uncharted, it was something more fantastical like Jak and Daxter was. But Sony asked for something more realistic because the market wanted games that looked like real-life for the first time (I’d credit Gears of War for setting this graphics expectation for the next 2 gens). And, wouldn’t ya know it, not only was Uncharted a succe...
Give it to the FighterZ devs
I bet SSDs are gonna be crazy more expensive for ps5 vs the SSD options for SX, and they don’t want to reveal that difference until more people commit to ps5.
I’m cool with it, I believe in Cerny’s decision to make the SSD a priority over the GPU. Let’s see what 5gb/sec uncompressed reading speeds can deliver in terms of gaming experiences 🤙
Yes, or course, obviously, but what about Game Pass?
PS5 owners will want Jim Ryan gone when they go entire generation without a single system-selling exclusive and manipulates ps+ costs to push an additional service.
I can’t wait for M$’ Zenimax investments to payoff in 4-6 years so they can stop compensating with a shameless PR campaign
Holy cow, I can play all of my old games at launch on the next gen console?!? Can’t wait to see how many frames I can run Gears 4 at 🤙
Sony is building a nice unspoken promise to add exclusives to their collection leading up to the release of their sequels.
Niice 🤙
