At least Ghost of Tsushima nailed the framework
I think you missed my point.... Nobody is blown away by Gears 5 today, so who cares if Xbox will allow me to play it in the best resolution and frame rates in the future? They are overhyping the value of BC in order to be expand the XsX’s game library without any cutting edge AAA exclusives for the console.
Well, their rollout can’t get less diverse than the last gen’s.... hopefully 343 just happened to mature into a top-notch studio in time for Halo Infinite, Xbox as a franchise NEEDS a system seller again.
Good luck launching a console without exclusives
Yeah, and in 7 more years we’ll be able to play Gears 5 in 8K at 120 fps
Forcing Halo Infinite to run on the OG Xbone is like forcing a TikTok feed to run on a dial-up connection for internet: it is impossible that the experience will not be held back by the hardware limitations.
We don’t buy $400+ consoles JUST to upgrade our existing games to 4K. Every new console launches with an exclusive to show off the new potential allowed by the new hardware, and no amount of PR spin from M$ is going to make an objective gamer lose sight of this.
I’m more concerned whether I can turn off the HUD more, and maybe if they ever plan to add Japanese lip syncing (it’s weird how much that matters to me now...)
Wrong.
Last of Us 2 is great... people in general seem more inclined to insist that a story is bad before trying to consider why the creators themselves wanted to go in a certain direction... at the very least, the game mechanics are perfectly refined, and the set pieces are consistently engaging
Exactly, they need to follow their creative drives.... if they never deviated from Uncharted in the first place, then we never would’ve gotten Last of Us
Nice to see Ninja Gaiden mentioned, I would’ve thrown in Vanquish and Alien Isolation (but specified that it’s more that they BOTH deserve to be played on their hardest modes)
Xbone controllers have haptic feedback in the Triggers, unlike the joysticks like with PS5. You are think of ADAPTIVE triggers, vs Xbox’s haptic feedback triggers
Ffs, we’re talking about two different features:
1) Adaptive triggers (motor driven adjustable resistance, such as with drawing a bow or pulling separate triggers on a double barrel shottie... will be in PS5 TRIGGERS, and have no plans of being in any Xbox controllers)
2) Haptic feedback (Advanced rumble... some version currently in Xbone triggers, and will be in PS5 JOYSTICKS)
I wonder if we’ll go the whole gen with people not understa...
PS5 has already shown off the SSD with the new Ratchet and Clank.
And the XsX’s SSD and supportive hardware and software will be objectively inferior to PS5’s setup. Both use hardware and software to support their SSDs, but the PS5’s SSD is twice as fast as the one in the XsX.
Twice as fast.
And, all Xbox first party games are launching for the One X for the next 18-24 months, so how exactly will game development for the XsX NOT be hel...
Lack of mechanical evolution, and uninspired gameplay? You must’ve played it on easy to hit your deadline, and never dove into the mechanics
Anybody that gets worked up over a story of fiction is too entitled to enjoy the story in the first place. If you don’t want to let a franchise take chances, then stick to Assassin’s Creed
Exactly.... Sony, I think you need to let American designers work on some options. Not all console designs need to be sleek and symmetrical... it depends on the game. The Cyberpunk 2077 One X is amongst the coolest console designs ever, but this just looks... uninspired.
And this is coming from someone who will NEVER buy an XsX
I can’t tell whether they are stressing BC since they had to invest in it this past gen in order to keep pace with PS4’s first party support on SOME level... or if they are stressing BC because they are expecting to STILL lag behind PS5’s first party support.
I hope it’s the former, but MS never showed me how the Azura network (aka POWER of teh CLOOD) benefitted me. So, I’m expecting all of this BC hype is just MS trying to hide their own lack of trust in their first party ...
If Max Payne 3 cost $105 million to make, then that is their fault. They must have poorly managed their resources. I love the game, but they had to know that they are not going to make a profit on that budget.
This is hardly a list of “advanced” tips
Here’s an advanced tip: the game’s art style is NOT trying too hard
