Why do people keep mischaracterizing the OS updates of last gen...
Yes people hated the PS3 updates... But not simply because they were frequent... They also interrupted gameplay sessions, removed features, bricked consoles, sometimes added nothing of use, and took forever. When you have all those issues AND happen frequently, it's annoying...
With the xb1 updates, it all happens in the background, and substantial features are added most of the time... It...
Now that their economy is tanking, they are a little less strict when it comes to business these days...
This article reads like a high schooler wrote it...
The MS gaming division dropped $2B on minecraft... And this guy wants to suggest their budget is shrinking...
Actually, this division is poised to rake in more revenues than it ever has, with a stellar Holiday and 2016 lineup, and the Xbox on windows initiative.
But FIFA runs at 1080p on its own (no cloud, no dx12) on xb1... And has better visuals than PES...
Again, show me one example of Turn 10 suggesting the cloud processing could in any way help with resolution...
The ONLY way it's ever been suggested to be used is for offloading CPU bound processing tasks (hosting, AI, physics, etc)... Offloading those things to the cloud, would only free up CPU resources. Resolution is a GPU/RAM issue...
Not that any of that is relevant here, considering this particular game doesn't used the cloud at all...
Bruh, When did anyone ever say the cloud would handle resolution?
It's being used to handle physics computations... It has nothing to do with visual capability... Also, this game isn't using cloud compute in anyway... Making your comment... Irrelevant...

well your comment doesn't make any more sense than theirs...
Yes an SDK improvement can bring performance improvements IF developers choose to take advantage of it... We already know that this game isn't being developed using dx12, so suggesting dx12 brought it to 1080p is just as silly as using a non dx12 game to discredit dx12.
What? Dx12 won't do anything for a game that isn't developed using dx12...
This is more or less a strike against konami's graphics engine... There are plenty of 1080p games on xb1 that also look better than PES...
I always thought they'd have a subscription model for Xbox one since they were pushing the TV features... I figured they'd bundle the console with a cable subscription or something... Or have a multi year contract agreement like cell phones...
If the base price was cheap enough, it would be a quick way to quick way to increase their installed base. Also, after buying a lot of games, people would be unlikely to get rid of their console after their contract was up.. ...
There are quite a few tv shows that assume the viewer has acquired backstory from another medium....
Anytime you have a spin-off series, that's essentially what you are dealing with... Marvel's agents of shield , Hannibal, bates motel, etc...
People are running wild with these personal definitions of 'show' but it's really both that complicated...
That's a pretty silly distinction...
Does it need to be syndicated to make it a show? I guess Orange is the new black isn't a show. Presumably we'll all be watching these on televisions.
Ok, my question is what does it lack that prevents it from being a show? That isn't explained in the article... He simply says its a series of 22minute, live action, scenes... Which is also what shows are, typically...
i'm confused as to how the author is differentiating "cut scene" from show...
So because the "cutscene" you see varies depending on in-game decision, it isn't a show?
That's like saying 'choose your and adventure' stories aren't books...
Yeah man, the trials, the growing vault, the discounts... EA access saves me a ton of money... While giving me a chance to play games I otherwise would have had to miss...
@spotie
Detractors have a fundamental misunderstanding of how corporations operate... Of course he spoke in support of previous policies... You don't publicly speak negatively of your companies decisions...that's no way to keep a job, let alone get a promotion...
That said none of us have any idea what was being said/done behind closed doors... What we do know is that Spencer was PROMOTED to HEAD of MS gaming... Obviously because they felt he was the ...
Of course he takes orders... But he IS an executive. I don't know how many Fortune 500 companies you've worked for, but executives are typically hired because they can execute without being micromanaged.
At the end of the day,he decides which endeavors his teams will pursue. And just because an action or comment brings positive public relations doesn't mean it isn't genuine... The concepts aren't mutually exclusive.
@jasperkeh
It's not just about the 180. There have been a number of decisions made since he took office that clearly weren't at play before he got there... And as head of gaming at MS, nothing happens until he ok's it.
So you say he's not 'responsible ' but that's exactly what being head means. You are responsible for directing your unit... For better or worse...
He's not just a PR person as you seem to imply...
@sirjojo
I beat the first max Payne in about 7 hrs... And the second 1 was shorter...
I played through both several times, and enjoyed it, but the campaign wasn't much longer than any other shooter...
Without any MP, I expect single player games to be more lengthy these days... I am encouraged by the multiple paths through the story, so if well executed, this campaign might last me a while... But there's still a chance choices won...
@metalgod88
the number of cars has nothing to do with how long GT takes...
most of the cars are just variants of each other, and many of the car models are simply recycled, some even from ps2 iterations of the game.
