I'm sure Sucker Punch could deliver a FANTASTIC spider-man game... But I'd be surprised and dissapointed to see Marvel/Disney allowing one of the biggest comics go Exclusive. Btw, I thought Activision had the rights to Spidey games...
Forza Apex is nothing more than a demo... A demo to show Forza to PC gamers, and a demo to show that UWP can deliver good gaming experiences.
Future Forza PC releases will be full games, MP and all
It makes no sense to feel shafted. You're getting the game on the system you have.
They are using it perfectly. They are beta testing the multiplayer, using a pre-alpha build.
Actually, he's blaming game developers for calling there pre-release demos betas.
This is exactly the distinction he's making. Those other "betas" weren't betas, they were prerelease demos.
These guys have come out and said that their technical beta is running a pre-alpha build. The idea that it will looks similar to the retail release doesn't make sense, when we know that many of the visual effects are actually turned off
How about giving fans the game they want? The one they've been asking for since Judgement dropped like a turd
I hate e3 conferences that are filled with CGI trailers for games we'll never see for 2-3 years.
I wanna see gameplay from upcoming titles... And hopefully, there have surprises for this year and the next.
Man, this is so false it isn't even funny. UWP is an open development API managed by MS, just like Win32 (which is how most PC games are made currently).
There's nothing in UWP that would prevent any company from allowing their games to cross-play with any other system.
There's also no requirement that games developed using UWP need release on Xbox. They can be sold (or not sold) on any store the dev/publisher see's fit.
Share play is obviously the more innovative feature, but backwards Compatability and MS implimentation has been more impactful.
Throwing in digital 360 games with new games, BC games on GWG, old collections popping up in the ready to download list, etc. it's been an amazing value.
It's not f2p. It's just free. No Microtransactions, but also no additional content.
It's essentially a large demo
That doesn't make any sense.
Currently, If a user no longer wants a digital game, the game has no value. He doesn't want to play it, and he can't sell it. It's useless.
By giving 10% back, MS is allowing that user to extract some value from something that previously had none. If someone offered you $6 for a heavily worn pair of stinky shoes that you don't want, you'd surely take it... Even if you previously paid $60 for them.
...
But they didn't learn enough to include LAN capability or stream all stages during tournaments...(they tried the latter for this tournament, but had technical difficulties that lasted almost all day).
@joeorc
I agree that VR is here to stay. But I don't know if this generation is going to be where things take of.
I think we'll see here that consumers are interested in the product. But I think the cost barrier to entry will keep it from saturating. gen2 of VR is where things will hit high gear.
Right now we are in the Tesla Roadster stage... We need the Tesla Model 3.
I think anyone with a brain would predict that enthusiasts would eat these things up at launch.
The question is will the more casual gamers keep the sales up once the initial hype settles. A $400 peripheral will be a big pill to swallow for a lot of people.
Yeah, I'm sure it is a first step. But no matter how pretty the game is on PC, it's still premature to call PC the home of the franchise. It doesn't yet have a full Forza experience.
THE new home? Apex is a free demo with no multiplayer mode, no limited tuning, and a limited car selection.
PC is hardly Forza's home. Maybe a vacation spot.
This game has always looked like a chore to me. I wasn't surprised to see it pushed back indefinately. It must be in development hell. When/if it does resurface I bet it will be dramatically different from what we've seen.
Boy was it pretty though.
Why not just get everyone on board? Worked wonders for the PS4
It would have to be a deal between Marvel/Sony/Activision if Activision still had the rights...
I don't see Activision giving up an opportunity for a multiplatform movie tie-in without an extremely large amount of cash changing hands.
I could see this being a big thing for Sony's lineup (really I can't think of a better studio to make a superhero game), but if I'm Activision, I would make this endevour prohibitively expensive.
