No chance of it being wiped off Metacritic. GameSpot and Metacritic are both outlets of CNET.
Edit @ whoever disagreed with me: Go to Metacritic, look at the top toolbar. It says it's part of CNET.
Fortunately I haven't visited GameSpot more than once or twice in the past few years. Still a very sad day for the industry. Finally proven, advertisers are buying their way into higher scores, and those who don't play along are now getting the boot, at least at GameSpot.
It's just what happens when something gets tangled into the mainstream and popular culture. Adios integrity, hello money!
When an article gets this many replies saturated with such raw idiocy (no matter which company you think you're a part of), it makes me embarrassed to be a member of this site.
Definitely agree with this article. All year-long, 10's being given away like they're going out of style. Doesn't mean much anymore, especially when it's being stamped on games that are not flawless.
ruibing hit the nail on the head.
Is anyone seriously expecting good PS3 sales on EA games? The PS3 games they release are notoriously horrible by comparison to their cross-brand counterparts. EA hasn't been able to make a PS3 port worthy of gifting to someone you hate, let alone actually buying for yourself.
That's actually what this guy promotes. He doesn't want children getting the games, that's why he's targeting parents in this article. He's not like Jack Thompson. His big gripe is that the ratings have zero enforcement, which is fine with me.
I may advocate an AO console market because I'm an adult, buy I don't want little kids strangling people with their Wii-motes in Manhunt 2 either.
Everything new brought to the table by Halo 3 has been possible in PC gaming for years, they just simplified it for console use.
Map making has been around since the original Doom. ".wad" files anyone?
Goldeneye was way awesome, and I honestly don't remember too much hype about it. Maybe cause I was too busy playing it to notice advertising.
Agreed with The Sims. That game sucks out loud. The only people I know who play it are female.
Agreed with Final Fantasy VII. Great game, but not even the greatest Final Fantasy. Not even 2nd best. Maybe 3rd or 4th =P
Agreed with the Halo series. IT'S THE BEST EVER!...at being mediocre. For having...
I guess this guy never heard of Amazon.com...
Agreed. The more mainstream something becomes, the more quality and innovation is lost to cheap and generic material (generalization, but a pretty accurate one).
The state of gaming today makes me sad by comparison to the old days, though there are always going to be good games here and there.
Not to take away from Nintendo's success, but a lot of the people buying these are re-sellers. They recently put a cap on the number each person can buy to 3 per month. Apparently a handful of people were buying the bulk of each new Wii shipment before that.
The thing always sells out as soon as it becomes available for purchase on Amazon. Christmas is only going to make it sell out quicker, and possibly raise the price on Wii's from individual sellers, due to the overwhelmi...
Ah, it's so seldom and grand to see the bad guy lose. I'm hoping he's dug his own grave deep enough that they'll swiftly remove his law license and kick him in. A man as fervently delusional as him should have no power whatsoever, especially when it comes to law.
Japan is adamantly anti-gun. Possibly a contributing factor behind this.
Can't just be about the blood, cause they have tons of blood in some of their games.
Exactly. Come Christmas morning, little Timmy isn't going to be throwing a new HDD inside his PS3, and I doubt his parents would even know what a hard drive is, other than "a thing their computer has".
I really just don't get it. It almost does seem like they've got someone inside trying to bring the company down. Everytime they take a step forward, they make sure they shoot themselves in the foot as well. If any SKU should become standard, it should be the 80gig....
What?! Fox news spinning and making stuff up?! NO WAY!
Worst news network on television, what more could you expect. Hell, they even treat Geraldo and that paparazzi group "TMZ" like legitimate news sources.
@3.4
Yeah I beat all the bosses, including the final boss in the monster ranch, Nemesis. Those sigils though... Some were just too damn hard (Lulu and Tidus).
@3.1
Same thing happened to me, except it was 193. I haven't played the game ever since then.
What do they expect to happen when they publicly prop up an attractive female as the sole force behind this game? I'm surprised the joke came as late as it did...
@ 6.3
It's from Chappelle Show. The Samuel Jackson beer skit.
Wow, that's actually pretty crazy.
INTERNET RIOT! ...lol
