Usually I avoid being critical of "Top __" lists like this because I can't expect people to agree with all the games I would have chosen, but this is utter garbage.
No Silent Hill? No Resident Evil? No Fatal Frame?!
I'll probably still buy them, but I certainly won't be playing them anywhere near as often as I would have been if they were released early April.
Grand Theft Auto IV is gonna keep me busy for months.
3.3: You know exactly what I'm talking about. The "only in America" internet crowd. Apparently America is the only place in the world you'll find dumb criminals.
I'm not the most patriotic man in the world, in fact I'm actually pretty far from it. I despise our government, most members of both the left and the right, and the south (the part of the country where most American stereotypes actually hold some clout).
However, I do get aggravated everytime so...
What's with you internet people believing crime only happens in America? Are you guys really that dimwitted, or do you just do it because it's trendy to hate Americans?
Downloading these right now. Spawn looks incredible.
If they had put the HD-DVD drive in standard, they would have released later, and bumped their price up to be nearly identical to that of the PS3, thus losing the price point and early release advantages.
Without those two things, who's to say they'd be ahead of the PS3 in sales today?
Totally agreed.
Sessler really lost me back when he made that video where he told anyone who doesn't like Halo 3 to go f@!k themselves. X-Play used to be great before the 2007 change (it was best around 2005), and it got even worse with the recent 2008 change. It really is a show purely for X-Box 360 owners now. Constantly showing leaderboard stats from XBL, but never the PSN. Everything multiplat they review is said to be "reviewed for the 360". Doesn't take a gen...
Pretty funny.
That kinda thing wouldn't last 2 seconds here in America. I can see it now; angry parents and FOX News declaring war against the cardboard display for tearing the moral fabric of society in half.
Amazon has the Core Arcade, standard 20gig, and Elite all in stock, and it's been that way for awhile. The only version in the top 100 is the 20gig, and it's currently at #67.
It's a statistic from 2006, and it's 25%. The United States has 5% of the world's population, but 25% of the world's prisoners, which ranks us as 1st for imprisoning our own people. 2nd is China, 3rd is Russia. Blame drug laws, they crowd the prisons more than anything else, by quite a substantial margin.
I do get sick of internet people throwing around the blind idea that crime and violence only happen in America. There are stupid, violent people all over the world.
Errr, wasn't he dethroned a long time ago? I remember hearing a quote from him when asked about it, saying; "It doesn't bother me at all, in fact I prefer it. Being the wealthiest man in the world brings too much attention". (or something to that point)
Now that I think about it, that was more than a year ago when I heard about that. I guess he got back to the top spot again and lost it.
Yeah, no kidding. There are numerous titles on both the 360 and PS3 that are more deserving of an in-game visuals award. Not to mention the 800lb gorilla in the room, Crysis.
I think this may even have some people at Bungie scratching their heads in confusion, thinking "...what?".
Even Jack Thompson thinks EA will turn GTA into trash...
Pretty much. I miss the days of the rough, tough and vulgar leading man. Less hero, more antihero.
Unfortunately this game will probably score relatively low, and get passed on by most of today's gaming community. It'll be purely for the old school, which is the minority nowadays.
I agree with the part of the article where it mentions this concept as being the best so far...

- The radio stations would have real commercials.
- The cars would be covered in advertising decals.
- Pedestrians would be wearing real brand-name clothing and corporate logo shirts.
- Half the guns and vehicles would cost extra money through DLC.
- Blood would be turned off unless you paid extra for it.
- Each part of the city would be sectioned off as $9.99 DLC (even though it would already come on the disc you payed for).
The list goes on and on ...
Don't care about this game at all really, since it's just not good. Ranks up among the worst character controls I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. The mere act or turning your character is a slow and sluggish hassle. You'd think that after so many years in the industry, Capcom would be able to avoid something so fundamentally terrible.
Turd vs. Turd: Which one smells less offensive?
Hope this becomes official. Akuma is one of the main characters I've been waiting for confirmation on.
Ouch, very humiliating. This coming off the heels of not only the new 16% estimate, but Microsoft disputing that number as being too high. You'd think they'd have someone on standby to swap it out just as a precaution.
Remember when X-Play was still one of the most accurate and reliable reviewing groups around?
Ahh... I miss you 2005/2006...
