Quite true. Nintendo actually introduces new IP's pretty frequently, especially on their portables. But the consoles get new IP's every generation. Even so, I'm pretty cool with Nintendo focusing mainly on established IP's with Wii U, at least just for the fact that they'll all be in HD for the first time. That's a pretty big deal.
Did you know you can get a Wii U for $299 or even cheaper in certain places?
I don't know why it's ever been as popular as it's been. It doesn't appeal to me, one of the few Nintendo franchises I don't care for.
No they didn't. Who in their right mind wants forced online and used games restrictions? No one, that's who. Even if you think you want it, you don't.
Well said. Usually the content that many younger gamers consider to be "mature" is anything but.
What a dumb comment. I'm sure Nintendo (or any other company) would be interested in people with whatever talents are desired.
It would be best to avoid this version of Mega Man due to its numerous technical issues. Do a youtube search to see what I'm talking about. Stick with the superior NES games.
No they didn't. They just recalled a certain amount of them. I was just making the point that you can get a Wii U for $299 if you want.
I think articles like this are just popping up to troll and generate hits. No one in his right mind would want mandatory online and stringent used games restrictions. Getting rid of all that was a good move by MS. Only an idiot would think otherwise.
It could happen. I know it doesn't seem likely, but as Nintendo releases more and more huge 1st party games along with inevitable system price cuts, they could remain on top. I'm just saying it's possible.
You neglected mentioning the $299 Wii U model.
Nowhere in the article does the author explain why he wants the drm back.
It was a great move, and they pretty much had to do it. Too many Xbox gamers were ready to jump ship to Sony, and I'm sure uninformed Xbox One buyers would have been livid to learn what kind of DRM plagued their new machine. This reversal ensures Xbox One will be successful and more enticing. Me personally, I'm still sticking with Sony and Nintendo. But at least now I can actually consider the Xbox One as a possible purchase at some point.
Good question, but better late than never. More Nintendo games is always a good thing.
You're right Nintendo Land is a solid game. I think Nintendo has learned from the past not to pack in Mario games with consoles since the games sell so damn much on their own. They want that income.
They very likely will. I'm hoping they'll make one sku that's $250 available in black or white and maybe pack in Nintendo Land. That would be a smart way to compete with Sony and MS by making Wii U significantly less expensive.
Of course. It was released months after the other versions for full retail. I don't know why these publishers expect late, full retail ports on Wii U to sell well. And then based on those poor sales, they drop support and don't release a Wii U version of future games even though they'd release on the same day as the other versions for the same price when it would make more sense to purchase the Wii U version. Weird.
Nice! I'm looking forward to 3D Mario.
The Wii U is not going to fail and be discontinued. In all likelihood, it will sell a respectable number of units throughout it's lifespan, and Nintendo will make healthy profits from first party games. It won't sell like the Wii, but it won't fail either. People are just kicking it right now while it's down. But once more first party heavy hitters come out, sales of the Wii U will dramatically increase.
They're only needed on the Vita, which are overpriced. The 3ds has some built-in memory, and they all come with memory cards, so you don't really need to buy another memory card unless you really want to.
