Little competition never hurt anyone.. Good for the consumer.
Wonder if they will also delay the DLC. I have mixed feelings. Excited to play it but also wasn't blown away by what they showed.
I mean, that is a pretty broad advertisement. I didn't take it to mean they are looking for a game similar to Destiny, just for people who are excited about games that have lore and progression through finding and earning gear.
And I wish he hadn't sold us all so much BS
True the frame rate is also an issue on this underpowered device
I just wish Sony made the Pro actually play games at 4k.
@dreue: what choice do you have. Sony doesn't have an option to play games at 4k. All you can do is suck it up and be happy. Money was already spent. Personally I didn't buy the Pro because when the specs came out I knew right away it wouldn't be able to actually handle 4k gaming. It just isn't built well.
Depends on the PC and whether it is using a Solid State drive. The bandwidth on the X isn't the issue this time, it is just the slower hard drive compared to what is typically found in a gaming PC. If you wanted to swap out the Internal Drive with a Solid State Drive the performance will be better. However a PC still has an advantage since it can use much better compression techniques depending on how good your CPU is.
As much as I loved Last of Us, I spent a lot more time playing Halo 5. Very different games, very different genres. But I also disagree about the PC. To build a PC that can run games at 4k with a reasonable frame rate we are talking at least 1000 dollars. I think MS is aiming for that user who wants to game in 4k or maybe doesn't have the money for a high end PC or the patience for making it work as a good couch experience.
Haha, yep. Although I do feel bad for Pro owners. What can they do. They already wasted that money. Denial is really the only course of action.
That movie is awesome, I want it.
Came with a free month of Game Pass.. so technically they gave away a ton of games.
@1Ayrtosenna84: Recore isn't that old. Metal Gear 5 not that old either. Halo 5 still very relevant as well. But if you want to hate about free games, have at it.
I didn't get a code.. Where is my code!
Might have to check this out
Yeah, I could never get into it on PC. But they are always working on it, hopefully they will make it a great game one day.
Even if they didn't care about the graphics, which I feel the developers definitely do. These are talented folks pushing bad hardware as far as it can go, but even if you wanted to make that argument. These games could run much better. Breath of the Wild had quite a few performance issues. And a game with graphics like that not running at 60fps is a shame. You should try the emulated version on PC if you get a chance. It is still a work in progress but feels so much better already.
Tiny fractions? Games are doubling the resolution over its closest competitors. It is a blood bath.
Good article. PC gaming has certainly come a long ways. And I do feel that Valve/Steam are a big reason why it is so much more streamlined today. They believed in the PC as a gaming platform more than Microsoft or Apple did and they provided an environment for it to flourish.
There are certainly still parts of PC gaming that might feel prohibitive, especially with advanced features and mods etc. But as far as getting games up and running the PC is finally for everyone.
I do appreciate the games. Very much. Breath of the Wild is my favorite game of all time. I just am not blind to how much better it could have been on good hardware.
The hardware's job is to make the best place for developers to create games. Doesn't matter who is making those games. First, Second, Third, Indie or otherwise. The smart thing to do is allow developers of all types the best environment to make the best games.
What they mean... is that it is too hard to monetize Single Player games.
