The date is December 5th, tomorrow for those that want to save a click. Funny it is launching alongside the Destiny DLC
Nobody I know. Although I am very tempted to try out the Underground thing. Looks fun. As does Resistance
Agree with all 3. Would add a few more as well.
1. Third party game services.
2. SDK mode for developing games
3. Cross Play
4. Live TV "if you still have cable or satellite" yeah, I know not game related but it is really nice. Love the trending channel finder.
5. Rewards system for earning money back by playing games
6. Actual 4k.
I am expecting to have a lot of fun while at the same time wishing it was more. But as long as I am still having fun I will keep playing.
X is truly in a league of its own.
So you are saying Microsoft is smart and a Sony isn’t? If so, yeah it does seem that way. Better to protect your customers.
It wasn't tacked on. You should watch the latest Digital Foundry video on how it works.
Yep, they also support Dolby Vision with Apple TV 4K. And the 4K movies are considerably cheaper. Reason I got it. Shame they don’t get the Disney movies in 4K though. Guardians of the Galaxy for example is 4K hdr on Xbox but not on Apple TV. Not sure why. Guessing Disney is freezing Apple out for some reason.
Like I said, I have tested the batteries myself. They last the right amount of time, just the onscreen indicator is wrong. I am using the Microsoft Play and Charge kit. And I have replaced them recently. The batteries are working as they should. The indicator is not.
Every issue I have addresses are real issues.
Sony got it very right in the PS3 era.. They are getting it very wrong now. They went from having great services for free or at a great value to locking services behind paywalls at every turn.
They are well aware, both through the Feedback Hub as well as discussions with support. When they fix them, I won't complain about them.
Open World games are thriving. They aren't going anywhere. It is just Linear Story based games that are declining. or somewhat anyhow. I don't think they will ever go away, but they aren't as popular as other genres right now and unfortunately more expensive to make due to the graphics having such a big role in this type of game and also harder to monetize since you can't usually customize things in linear story games.
Some of those look interesting. Here are some things you can do in Windows though that I have found useful to add to the utilities. First up is a shortcut for switching monitors. Very useful to pin to your taskbar so you can switch back and forth from your TV to your Monitor.
%windir%\System32\DisplaySwit ch.exe /internal. This is to switch to monitor
%windir%\System32\DisplaySwit ch.exe /external. This is to switch to your TV
there should not be...
yep. Greed. Pure and simple. Can they do it? Yes. Will they do it? No. It isn't in the interest of their pocket books.
Because they are greedy. They would much rather invest in ways to make consumers spend more money than adding value.
That would be amazing! Yeah, Diablo gets this so perfect! Everything about Diablo is awesome haha. I do love Destiny as well though. But yeah they need to come up with ways to keep the players going besides just adding DLC every few months.
I can't say that I have been frustrated by or even experienced most of those issues. Downloads happen mostly overnight while the console is off, really like the way updates are handled in the background. And never once experienced the Game is taking Too Long To Start. Is this a real thing?
I do have some issues though. Here is my list of things that frustrate me.
1. No Dolby Vision support. This makes the UHD BluRay worthless to me. Nothing angers me ...
The YouTube streaming is up to Google. Microsoft isn't blocking Google from adding that. But if you want to complain that google is being anti consumer here, sure go for it. Twitch streaming is very possible, MS isn't blocking streaming features at all. In fact the streaming API is built in to allow other services to easily capture and stream.
Has Xbox done some anti consumer things? I suppose. Was never a fan of blocking multiplayer behind the Xbox Live services. Although Sony copied that anti consumer approach. Was also disappointing that Xbox 360 didn't have BC but they did fix that with the One. The Kinect was also a mistake, also fixed. The rest of the stuff isn't anti consumer or even true. Just because you don't like the new IP's doesn't mean they don't exist.
The issue with Sony is...
Pretty convenient to leave out all the BC games. Which of course would lead Xbox One to win again.
