Thanks to BC Xbox has far more award winning games than any other console. It isn’t even really close. While Sony and Nintendo are milking their sheep, Xbox brought real value and the most great games. And services like Game Pass and EA Access make sure this huge library is available at a much better value than the others. It will take some time maybe but eventually the sheep will pull that wool up from their eyes. I own PS4, Switch and a nice PC. Steam and Xbox offer the best game libraries ...

Good points about 2019, 2020.. But with all consoles being PC's now. Meaning they all use the X86 architecture, I don't really think we will ever see true new consoles again. They will all be increments. Which is a good thing for consumers because now backward compatibility should be a no brainer and developers will be happy to adjust their games to meet a larger range of hardware and consumers.
Maybe if you turn off like every single setting. I have a 1060 here at work and high settings at 4k struggle to hit 18fps. Even on Medium it struggles to hit the mid 20's.
Xbox One X puts a lot of pressure on PS5 too. Going to be hard to show significant gains over that hardware without having some pretty steep prices in the near future.
Proof is in the pudding. 1060 runs Tombraider at 4k and 18fps. Meaning it can't do it.
If you can't afford the X, you aren't sniffing a gaming PC that touches 4k.
PS4 Pro was sadly just a mistake. Everything is half baked.. The 4k isn't 4k. The VR is the worst out there. I don't know what Sony was thinking.

Lol, there is no competition. X is doubling the resolution of PS4 Pro which is the only ""wannabe competitor"". If you want a 4k gaming Console this is the only option.

True, turn enough features off you can run 4k games on an integrated Intel Chip lol. I don't think that is the goal here though.
I bet it will happen much sooner than we think though.
You can already run 8k games on PC with SLI setups. You could probably even hit 120fps if you left off the post processing effects. I bet in 5 years we will all be talking about setups that can run 10k fairly well.
Games were never meant to be resold to begin with. I don't think the industry will look at that as a roadblock. the concerns right now are regarding countries with limited internet bandwidth. Compression technologies will have to get much better and they are making some big strides here.
