Gaming longer than Mario.

I look to the game journalists for reporting on the industry news. When it comes to reviews, I don't value their opinion any more or less than any other person. Sure a free game or system raises questions if you can trust there review or not. But then every persons review of a game is subjective. Each person has particular tastes. What things they hold as more important than others can be different. There are even differences in judging quality. Then you add in if a persons integrity is ...

Just in my town there were tons of PS4's on Craiglist early that morning. The cheapest was $625. I reserved mine. My friend who I told months ago to reserve it slept on it. He's your typical COD-Madden gamer. But of course as soon as he sees all the tv marketing the last few weeks hes dying for one. Called all the stores and searched craigslist. I told him to wait a few weeks until he sees one at the store, let the launch issues, and spend the extra on games and PS+. No need to pay t...

That price only represents the material cost. It doesn't count all the developments and marketing costs. Also on a $400 console sale the retailer has to get a cut of that.

Looking at this 2006 article...Sony lost 200-300 per console, depending on the model. They look to be in the same boat. I'm sure the Xbox is no different. As with any console launch that cost go...

I went from being an Xbox guy when the first Xbox came out to total Xbox fanboy early last gen then slowly migrating to the PS side. I even canceled my XB One reserve in favor just going with the PS4 for now. I have no immediate plans to buy a One but I'm sure I'll pick one up sooner or later. There is no way I would count Microsoft out already. There will be all kinds of changes over the next few years.
That price point is a real kicker. I know all the reasons why they put...

Before they even announced storage sizes I said anything less than 1TB would suck. That was just when I thought both companies would be pushing digital downloads more. I wasn't even thinking about installs. This is just like last gen. The 500 will do for awhile for your casual customer, but the serious gamer will need to upgrade ASAP. There is no way mine makes it a years. I went crazy and bought 12 launch games(not including the free stuff on psn). By the time DLC comes out that storage ...

People forget that when last gen consoles launched, they consoles were not as online centric as they were by the end of the generation. When we have games that have launch issues, what do you think is going to happen when consoles that are more online focused launch. The people that are having problems are of course going to be much more vocal than the ones who are experiencing no problems and going about their business.

They started putting the consoles in boxes two months ...

With the Hadouken Cab viral ad and now in this video, I would be very surprised if there is not a Street Fighter related announcement tonight or soon.

I live in a small "city" in Virginia, just south of Washington, DC. I have no problem with the internet. I've had Fiber Optics for years. My friend who lives 6 miles from me, and only 15 minutes from the center of town can't get it. Outside that there is a lot of territory where people live in rural areas and have crap internet. I imagine thats even worse out in the middle of the country. Its all about the infrastructure.

Its not that the internet speed is not capable in the US, its that the US is not as small and densely populated as other countries. Outside of cities and towns, many people live in areas where high speed internet is not available and the cost to run lines out to everyone is just too much.

Poor headline. Jeff left Sony last year.

Even if there was collusion, who is at fault for the collusion? The NFL would be more at fault for not giving a fair chance to SEGA to acquire the rights even if they would still be outbid. Since then the rights have been renewed by both the NFL and NFLPA, and that looks to continue. Still everyone wants to blame EA and wont say a word about the NFL. EA is only at fault for the quality of their game. Its all on the NFL for deciding to sell the exclusive rights. They were not forced to do that...

I get if people liked 2k5 better, want to see another football game in the market, or just don't like Madden. I think its just ridiculous when people act like Madden is the worst game ever that has never made any improvements or added anything new. But I would certainly a 2K football revival.

As for there being only one NFL game on the market. I think EA unfairly gets almost all of the blame. Any company would be likely to eliminate competition if an exclusive license wa...

I always think they underestimate how many of your average console gamers are just console gamers. Not all people who play games are gamers that love everything and will go where the games are. The average consumer...(key word AVERAGE, not hardcore gamer that reads N4G) is conditioned to think you play games on a box in front of your tv and they cost $60, then you go play Angry Birds on your phone or tablet for free or 99 cents.

I generally like Pachter. But he definitely has a blackbelt in cutting people off.

Anytime we get lists like this some things always get me. First, thats just the list today. We don't know home many unannounced games are out there. This doesn't mean that in 2 or 3 years things could be completely different. Next, all games are not equal. There is a big difference between an Halo or Driveclub, a Zoo Tycoon, or a pile of indie games. And then, who cares what other platforms the games are on? Who cares whats on PC, an handheld, or tablet. If its all about comparing X ...

I would say the chances are high. Crytek was already hired by THQ to make the sequel before Crytek aquired the IP in the THQ liquidation. I liked the Crysis games, so I would at least like to see what they could do with Homefront before writing it off.

A quick google search turns this as the third item on the search. They apparently acknowledged they were working on it a few weeks ago.

I'm waiting for the PS4 verison as with Battlefield and AC4. I could have gone the current to next gen upgrade route. But I wanted to wait and enjoy the new game feeling along with the new console feeling.

I think this is just a different circumstance than usual years. Two brand new consoles coming a week apart, and within a month of major game releases. Its better to look at the numbers after the holiday season. Last year a similar issue came up when trying to compare B...
