I think you hit something with the racing there. To me auto racing would be the limits, and even then a gray area of what is a sports. Racing actually requires a lot from the human body. Auto racers(and pit crew) spend a lot of time on strength and endurance training. Over the course of the race, the drivers are constantly fighting the G-forces and fighting the car for control. Even then, is that the same as lets say a sprinter. There they uses the physical abilities to compete against each o...
To me the problem has always been the "esports" term and making it out to be an actual sport. Its not. It is a legitimate competitive activity, but not a sport. Concentration and hand eye coordination with the controller are not enough physical activity for me to call this a sport.
This can partially be blamed on ESPN for airing so much poker. Other things I have seen on ESPN..dominos, chess, eating, and Magic The Gathering tournaments. All things I would say have merit to...
Just like last generation where both sold over 80 million systems...you can make the argument that one is the victor, but neither really loses. If both are successful, everyone wins.
I have GT6. Its like you said. Its a credit grind and you have the option to buy credits. With 1000+ cars in the game. There is a lot of variety, and many are expensive. To build up a stable of high end rare cars it almost requires you to spend money.
Personally I don't mind these shortcuts in regular games...with the caveat that they do not purposely increase the grind to entice people to spend moremoney.
Cloudness Awaits
You assume that because you pay for a subscription service you shouldn't have to see ads. I'm sure its not in your terms of service.
People don't get that advertising is not all about making money for the company, but raising funds to offset the cost to the consumer. Its the same reason you have commercials, print ads, and internet advertising. Many of these services are being delivered to the consumer below cost.
Unless its some obtrusive pop...
Ads or promos for things that are available on the psn are not really ads to me. Its just part of the psn. Telling me about a game on sale, a movie on sale, or some new dlc I didn't know about is fine with me. I can even live with an ad that at least has to do with a cross promotion deal or a contest. A lot of that stuff goes on is PS Home. But random things that have zero connection to playsation or xbox content...no, no, no.
Sure it may not be a "minor thing" to add, but after multiple games now lets not act like its impossible. Other games both racing and non-racing have have nighttime and weather effects for years.
To me that is almost a different subject. That article in a long winded way tackles the idea that anyone who touches a game is a gamer. My aunt who plays Farmville, not a gamer. Dude with any iPhone and a few free games. Not a gamer.
But in the case above we clearly have a person who is a gamer, but then people want to start putting standards on things. Its almost like people need to have a gamer ranking associated with them. Not everyone is going to have the same interests ...
I wouldn't peg it to one certain beginning. Its common among any kind of activity or interest that grows in popularity. You have a group of people that were there when it was a niche interest. As more people become interested, those that were there before have an elitist attitude towards the new people. They act is if the new people are not able to have genuine interest and are only there because this is the new fad. That may be true of some, but not all. In any case its a terrible attit...
This brings up another issue that I think is at the root of it all. The "real gamer" pissing match. People come up with these imaginary rules based on how long you have been gaming or what games you play. If you don't meet their imaginary qualifications all of a sudden your opinion is invalid or its not even possible that you know anything. And then the idea girls can't be taken seriously if dress a certain way? Or guys are not hardcore gamer enough if they also like sports ...
A clever PR manipulation to project the message they want? I am shocked! Well, I would be if this wasn't what everyone in advertising, news, and politics did. And the people eat it up, no matter what side of the fence they are on.
Japan is my number one choice. Just imagine the Assassins Creed spin on Japan, samurai, and ninjas.
As for this list I don't think anything mentions that the next game has to come from this list. Playing the other day I saw what appears to be a statue of the head of a Roman Ceasar in the Abstergo COO's office. I thought it was odd because all the other stuff in his office is related to AC4. There are also recordings that mention Hitlers Third Reich. All this is about...
As with anything, it all depends on how well its implemented. I found the Need for Speed one was decent. While my friends were playing I used to app to set waypoints and look all around the map for things. You could also repair the cars and recharge the boost. But that comes at a cost. You have to do this little mini game on the app to build up those abilities. They just don't grant you free reign to do so. I have yet to try out the Battlefield or AC4 one.
I think there ...
I was playing this weekend, and after sequence 3 when you go to the Abstergo COO's office there are two head sculptures in glass cases. All the artwork on the walls in his office is pirate stuff, but on of the sculptures is clearly a Roman. I know later things in the game allude to about every location possible, but I thought this was odd in his office.
My hopes are for Japan or Ancient Rome. If you pick the right time like the Julius Caeser era, you can use multiple pla...
I'm only about 1/3 through the game on PS4 and I love it so far. This game has renewed my intrest in the franchise at this point. I'm especially enjoying the whole Abstergo employee part of the story much more than playing Desmond.
While I'm sure franchise fatigue is a big part of slower sales for some games. I would say a significant part of that is due to the new consoles releases. In other years where people could buy many games this time of the year. They are...
In regards to the disc falling out, I really don't think people are thinking this through. Games travel a long way from the factory, to the store, and to your house. Sometimes they end up there by mail. They will be moved and tossed around in every direction possible. If the disc does not fall off then, no matter what side of the case its on, it certainly not going to fall off while sitting on your shelf. This is only an issue for people looking to nitpick.
I wonder how many comprehend Rubins statements, or even listened to them. This isn't about him being rich and stingy with his money. He's only saying what many fans and industry people think, Nintendo may be better off in the future as a 3rd party making games for PS and XB rather than competing with a console.
I would assume the theory is that since most people are right handed, it would be better to hold the case in the left hand then remove disc and insert it with the right. Just a guess though. As far as the disc falling out, that idea assumes that cases don't already end up in every position possible from the factory to a persons home. Not an issue.
I don't think its something that needed change, but its not really something where people need to act like the sky is fal...
I'd be happy just to play GTA online on my ps4.
