That somebody not mature enough to watch a sex scene around other people - especially one that's not exactly graphic - isn't necessarily the right person to say whether it's a mature thing to go into a game or not.
It's like wanting to have sex with your girlfriend when you're 13 but not being brave enough to buy condoms. If you're not mature enough to do the one, you're probably not mature enough to do any of it.
In all fairness though, a decent moral person won't steal cars but can inhabit a role in a game in which it's a necessary evil. The average person isn't ever going to play professional football or fight in a real war.
Sex isn't that far-fetched. It isn't even hard to get. Billions of people throughout history have managed to get laid and only a specific number of them have been professional footballers or career criminals.
I think what I...
The implication there is that you live with parents/family/people who would judge you as a pervert for watching a sex scene.
Not that that makes your opinion any less valid, but somebody with a home of their own or somebody not embarrassed by a sexual act - digital or not - would probably have a different opinion.
On the speed limit - totally. But you're also an asshole if you're beeping the horn, swearing out the window and trying to pressure them to go faster for twenty miles. Both drivers are terrible and should be off the road. A good driver would act based on what was happening, stay calm and get in front safely and legally.
Which, funnily enough, is pretty much what somebody upset with Bethesda should do in this situation. Stay calm, act based on what's happening. Ven...
I don't disagree that it's an issue that needs sorting. I disagree that acting like a spoilt child is the best way for "fans" to show their displeasure over the matter.
If you go to the Bethesda Facebook page and swear, use poor spelling and grammar, insult, exaggerate and generally act like a five year old who can't get his toy, the Bethesda PR people will take one look at it and shrug it off. This is someone who probably can't afford the DLC anyway...
This is oversimplifying it somewhat (RE: valid complaints). Nobody minds a complaint put in at the right time and place, but it's the way that it's delivered that matters. It's the equivalent of honking your horn constantly for 20 miles because the person in front is going well below the speed limit. They KNOW they're going below the speed limit, you know they're going below the speed limit, the only thing you're doing is making yourself look like a dick and getting yo...
They apparently gave only 10 minutes for questions, with 40 journalists present. If you've ever been to these things, you'll know questions are rarely answered quickly (or asked quickly, in some cases).
You know, you can't complain that games journalism sucks and then say everybody offended by this sort of thing is overreacting. The same happened when EA was selectively choosing people to review Battlefield 3 based on their opinion on Call of Duty. The press complained and the fans just said "so what?"
The gaming industry is VERY very closed, to members of the public and to journalists and this is an example of that. If you want writing about the industry to im...

Some people just HAVE to pirate. I don't know that any formal studies have been done or anything, but I know from first hand experience that a pirated DVD can be £4.99 and an official release £5 and some people will go for the one that is £4.99. The picture quality may not be as good, there won't be any special features, but they'll buy it anyway. They'll probably justify it after as well.
Haven't seen it happen with games as much (because p...
The problem with this article is that the author has presumed there is only one definition of "open world". He's thinking of Skyrim, of Fallout, rather than (for instance) something like Shenmue.
Ground Zeroes will still have a linear story (as proven by the 8 minute intro cutscene shown the other day). But there will also be side missions and non-story sections (not unlike Peace Walker) designed to let you explore. The player, presumably, will also have a great...
Rights? Like Hicken said, there could be exploits to worry about as well, but streaming content would almost definitely require permission and work on behalf of the original developers and it probably don't come easy, and it probably don't come free.
It's easy to do things when not chained by bureaucracy, but that's the truth of running a big business.
@DragonKnight
"Except from trolls?" Any how exactly do you describe the people disagreeing with and insulting those who have admitted to enjoying Final Fantasy XIII in this comment section? And in the comment section of every article on XIII since about a month after release?
Your argument seems to be "the people who dislike the games I like are the minority and the people who agree with me on XIII are the majority." Which is nonsense. X w...
@taquito
I've seen multiple sources saying the PC was basically at PS3 specs and that Kojima is confident this is how the game will run on PS3.

You know, this is the one developer I just can't stand. Molyneux's a great guy, David Jaffe is outspoken but intelligent enough about the industry to make it work. They might be controversial, but I like them both.
Jonathan Blow just made one game and then has spent 6 years telling us all why it (and The Witness) is better than anything coming out of mainstream publishers.
I'm thinking Majora's Mask. There's no other way I can think of doing it without artificially shortening the game (which is something I've never seen done before and with good reason) and cutting off side quests.
If it's not like Majora's Mask, it'll probably be based on story progression rather than real time. I get the feeling the original source for all of this was specifically vague on this, either because they didn't fully understand it th...
A lot of people complained about the battle system because it wasn't menu-driven enough.
Personally I loved the XIII/XIII-2 battle system. Once you realized it wasn't about picking moves, it became almost like a rhythm game (unless you just threw the controller down and ran to the internet to complain). It wasn't so much about how you attacked, but when and in what way. It was well designed for the most part (some of the battles were ridiculously long winded) and ...
@gaffyh
I'd be interested in seeing pre-owned sales for XIII-2. It might not have shipped a load or have sold at full price for very long, but I know for a fact that people have always gotten excited each time they've been able to pick it up dirt cheap (and here in the UK it's been sub-£10 brand new more than once, so pre-owned we can presume has been selling as steadily if not better than new copies).
I get the feeling XIII-2 might have been...
Welcome to the gaming industry. You must be new here.

You're presuming something newsworthy was said though. If they're skirting around what was already in the trailers, adding a bit of banter and basically avoiding anything new, it wouldn't be worth covering the event. If they announced something new, it may have been covered by this site separately, there is still value is sharing an experience that many thousands of people wouldn't imagine is something that happens.
Opinion pieces...
