Gearbox is famous for Half Life: Opposing Force and for masterfully porting Halo to the PC. What is Treyarch known for? Mooching off Activision's series and making Call of Duty 3 =O Has anyone played that btw?
It will be better. Brothers in Arms is unrivaled in its authenticity, realism, and story. Treyarch says they're trying to make CoD5 a dark and unforgettable experience, but I have yet to see any maturity come from the CoD series of war games with their tendancy towards nonstop action-packed "Hollywood" gameplay. Brothers in Arms has action but also shows the quiet and darker side of war, with a lot of tragedy mixed in with a memorable cast of characters to create drama. Besides, ta...
Is this game going to be about the Pacific Theater or not? We've been playing the Russian front in almost every CoD installment for the past 7 years. Nobody wants any more of it, so do yourselves a favor Treyarch and don't bother tacking on the half-assed sidestory and work on making the Pacific portion better. Common sense says you don't HAVE to cover every side of the war in each game.
Brothers in Arms has never been about the visuals. It's a tactical, realistic shooter with a dramatic storyline, not over-the-top-action eye candy like Call of Duty. Graphics had to be sacrificed for AI and realistic environments (COD4's walls were like paper). Although Hell's Highway IS gonna have some impressive coloring and rain effects.
Also, CoD4 visuals were crap. I don't know if you noticed, but the graphics in CoD3 were far more advanced than in CoD4. It's a shame so fe...
I expected better. The picture of the screaming guy with the generic G.I. face has Medal of Honor written all over it.
What do destructable ENVIRONMENTS (at least get the first letter right, please.) have to do with tanks? Tanks take 2-3 hits to destroy so the game is more balanced. How would you benefit tactically from driving a tank and only being able to shoot off a couple rounds before being taken out by a single rocket (which are much easier to get than tanks)?
Naw, really?
I think we've had just about enough licensed guest characters for one game, Namco. Why don't you go back to working on the gameplay?
Sure does, doesn't it? :P
I for one am almost certain Killzone 2 is gonna be bad. Speaking as a PS3 owner, i'm quite worried that all the focus is on graphics and presentation. The game is due out in a year, and they haven't spoken a single word about the actual gameplay. Looks like they haven't learned a bit from Killzone 1.
I can't believe they'd have the nerve to even think of such a thing.
1) They bent us over and screwed us bad with Assassin's Creed 1. Built up monumental hype before the release, got sh!tloads of ppl to buy it, and then gave us a game with dull gameplay and an ending that has NO PAYOFF WHATSOEVER. Not to mention all the questions it intentionally raises.
2) After an ending like that, you'd think a sequel would be obligatory. But what's this? We need to anticipate...
Nevertheless, you can't deny that this latest rendition of the MGS theme (called Metal Gear Saga) is by far the best.
The graphics are average, and the animations look terrible, but if it plays anything like Battlefront and works well online, then at least the gameplay should be good.
I'd hate to see the battles that go on between them.
@Kami
Goatse monster takes the cake.
Love the headline.
Nintendo needs to get with the program and stop deluding itself over what gamers want.
But this is way overrated and shouldn't be nearly as limited.
Gunmetal isn't even grey nowadays.
This is what we call missing the point. The problem isn't the well-being of those precious little ears of yours. It's the proof we're seeing of the degradation in morals (especially among younger kids) of our Internet generation. Sessler's taking a psychological approach here, trying to get these guys to control their anger and outbursts, because shouting obscenities over XBL is a lot worse for the people doing it than it is for you guys hearing it. It chews away at their character, until the...
I'm a current PSN gamer and a former Xbox Live gamer. Remembering back to playing Halo 2 on XBL in the past generation back before Live went popular and mainstream, I encountered swarms of the stereotypical "little kids" who scream and shout hatred over their mics. I imagine it's only gotten worse since Live became a staple of 360 gaming. When I switched over to PSN, I encountered much, much less. It's probably because 1) no one has ps3, or 2) most of us who do don't bother to get m...
I'm totally 100% behind this game. Yes, i too am bored with WW2 shooters. But this isn't the same ww2 that we've been playing for the last 10 years. This takes place in the Pacific Theater, one of the darkest, bloodiest, most brutal chapters in American military history. The terrain is completely different- mostly jungle, tall grass, and caves. That leads to a completely different style of fighting- one that's more up-close and personal, involving flamethrowers, bayonets, and hand-to-hand. If...
Amen x 1000000000.
Road to Hill 30 ftw.
