Both services have their own strengths and weaknesses. PS3's store charges you directly for each thing you buy, so it makes it a lot easier to make small purchases. No need to pay a monthly fee on top of $50 a year. However, Netflix subscription allows a lot more rentals and I'd imagine a much bigger selection, but you'd have to rent a lot each month to make it worth it.
PS3's service lets you import movies to your PSPs, but it'd be quite a step below the awesomeness of an HD l...
There's a movie fee?
Yeah, generally if a game's attach rate isn't good enough to achieve 1 million worldwide, it's considered a flop. It could still be good, but commercially its a disaster.
And stop it with that "Be a gamer...not a hater" crap. It's obvious whose team you're playing for and whose you're not.
This game could use a lesson from "Assassin's Creed"s free-running. Climbing those buildings would look a lot less glitchy. Other than that, it looks pretty good.
Is it just me or has Microsoft's PR been nothing but d1cks throughout this whole ordeal?
Brushing off issues to look tough, thus alienating your JP consumer base? Not a smart move. If Sony said that about us over here, we'd probably revolt or commit suicide.
Sometimes makes you wonder if any of those MS boys had any real education, or if they're just trying to wing it like Bill Gates did.
Haven't they always been targeting the West with their gratuitous gore (Ninja Gaiden) and bouncy breasts (DOA)?
Square Enix sees people fighting over their game, and now they think they're Jesus Christ.
Desperation's dead-giveaway.
The Final Fantasy series is a bit dead. The series hasn't evolved since FFX. They put out FFXI and FFXII, and nobody really cared. And with the release of MGS4, which takes the cake for best storytelling, graphics, art direction, and production values, of course Square Enix would want to go multiplatform to save sales and profits.
And what better way to start doing that than by taking a big-a$$ bribe from MS.
Either it doesn't happen, or most people will own PS3s by the time it does.
And there are way too many PS references and Xbox jokes in the game for it to be ported to 360. It's about as likely to happen as Halo coming to PS3.
Dead in the software area? Sounds more like Microsoft to me. What have they got coming? Gears 2, that's about it.
FFXIII? Please. You parade about that now, but I doubt any shooter-loving 360 owners will actually end up buyi...
"After MGS4 I don't give a sh!t about FFXIII" could counter the FFXIII announcement.
If I was gonna brag about stealing franchises, I'd pick a better word to use than "steal." Otherwise, it might look like Microsoft was beginning to pride itself on its dishonesty. Imagine that.
And when you think about it, Sony losing Guitar Hero and Madden isn't a surprise to anyone. Guitar Hero was one-of-a-kind and too big of a phenomenon to be kept on one platform, and Madden is a commercial cash cow that whores itself to any source of money. The only franchises t...
I don't see the big deal about any of it, or why we as gamers are still treating Square Enix like gods. How many people still play and follow the latest iterations of the seemingly-neverending line of Final Fantasy games? Not nearly as many as before. I used to be a fan, but frankly, I find that the FF universe has gotten more redundant and less captivating than it once was. And Metal Gear Solid 4 already took the cake for best art direction, presentation, and storytelling, not to mention a h...
As long as the porter isn't EA again.
But it looks like it will be.
I want Ratchet and Clank!
That looks more like a Circuit City ad to me, dawg.
And I heard a rumor that there may be more Greatest Hits than just those shown. A different picture showed those three games as greatest hits, along with 4 PSP titles, but there's gotta be more than 4 PSP greatest hits, so maybe we've got a few more as well?
The red label's fine, the red case is the problem. They look nice, but they stick out like a sore thumb when stacked with other clear-white ps3 game cases. Just seems like it'd be kinda weird.
Is Warhawk really all that great? I bought it, played it for a week, and returned it for store credit. It was technically impressive, but it felt like too much like an awkward, ridiculously underpopulated game of Battlefront for me to enjoy.
Where is the BiA: HH Collector's Edition available? There's been no mention or trace of it anywhere else.
True that. People who have both Xbox Live and Netflix already separately will not notice the difference. For that reason, I think the PS3 service has a much bigger impact, as it provides a video service to people who may or may not have one, and at no extra cost. Unlike Microsoft, which gives people an option to buy Netflix, Sony's throwing users a free gift. It's a bit skimpy right now, but its accessible to a LOT more people.
