They look close at first glance, but I'm fairly confident that 360 is going to win in the more comprehensive Digital Foundry test.
The game has large environments, and it's an Unreal title.
I'm expecting a better framerate on 360.
We shall see.

I own both a 360 and PS3, and multiplats are still better on 360 most of the time.
It's not as blatant as in the early days of the PS3 when major publishers regularly butchered PS3 ...

Fallout New Vegas has some genuine choices.
It's the recent action game that comes the closest to fulfilling this promise.
Much more than Mass Effect, Walking Dead, Skyrim or Fallout 3...

Older CRPGs (some done by the same guys who did FNW) might have the same sort of branching paths, like Planescape.
But since their gameplay is more akin to that of a party micromanagement strategy game, this probably leaves New Vegas as the most narratively o...

MGS4 is the right choice because nothing is pre-rendered.
Unfortunately, Gears or Uncharted can't say the same.

God of War III has a preset camera, which helps the console tremendously.
And some levels like the gardens didn't look as good as the resr.

Motorstorm doesn't have good visuals.
Neither do the Resistance games.
Not even in the same league as top racers and shooters.
I like Motorstorm Apocalypse, I own it, but it's not good looking.
Its emphasis is elsewhere, like 4-player split screen.

Gears 3 also looks way better than Uncharted 1, come on.
Basically, Microsoft focuses on very few first party exclusives, and Halo's emphasis is on large sandboxy environme...

I don't want a flight sim, I want an arcade flight action game.
So I'm more likely to play this than Sturmovik.

Wait... What?

I have the PoP comp and it's one of the worst HD remixes.
KZ is not as great a game as PoP but visually, the tech behind it is much more solid and the port will probably be less of a rush job since it's handled by Guerilla.
It will hold up much better than PoP as a remix (not as a game).
PoP HD was done by an small inexperienced team.

It did control bad.
To their excuse, a lot of shooters from that era did.
Try playing Area 51 today and you're in for a shock.
Or Darkwatch.

But compared to the absolute top console shooters of the day like TimeSplitters 2/3, Halo 1/2 (here come the disagrees), yes it did control very poorly.

Not surprised. It looked strong on the PS2 as well, with a lot of anglular buildings and fairly spartan concrete textures.
Among the non cartoony games, it has to be one of those that lends itself the best to an HD update.
On the PS2, it had horrendous texture load problems, which should be gone as well, and bad controls, which Guerilla says have been adjusted to be more in line with the PS3 games.

But I remember being kind of torn when I played it in 2004...

Good for Nintendo.
They take a ton of flack for their lack of core games, they were presented with the opportunity to grab an embattled core title and they seized it.
I won't buy a Wii U for that one game, but more power to them.

However, I'm a bit disappointed by PG, because I thought they said they wouldn't do straight sequels, and if there was a successor to Bayonetta, it would be a spinoff with significant differences in concept and charact...

Guess I have to play Killzone 2.
I played the demo, but it had infinite respawns, obvious spawn closets and artificial limitations to the level that killed you automatically if you crossed them.
I liked the visuals and the "heavy" feel of the movement and weapons, but the design tropes and scripts felt very tired.
And since I thought the 3rd one to be pretty good but still formulaic, I kinda wonder if KZ2 is really THAT great.

Resistance accomplished nothing special.
The weapon gimmick was already there in Insomniac's previous games, the oversized enemies made the game feel even more gimmicky and only highlighted the rather mundane mechanics in other aspects of the franchise.
The level design was too formulaic, there were some more open battle zones but the overall structure still feels very linear and restrictive with plenty of scripts and artificial bottlenecks.
The characters were ...

It's good in theory but unless you have a gaming mouse with a huge number of buttons, there's always gonna be some functions that won't fit on the mouse, and you are going to have to map them to the keyboard.
In that case, pressing keys with the Ministick already in hand doesn't look super practical.

There are some more expensive, full blown gaming keyboards designed for one hand, like the Logitech G13.
It's still not ideal, especially ...

(Knowingly?) misleading.

Coincidentally, Michel Ancel has a ton of nice things to say about the Wii U.

The first one was solid. The story is actually a bit better in one than in the others.

But I remember the analogue aiming being very touchy.
At the time, console shooters with spot on controls were still a relative rarity (Halo, TimeSplitters...).
It's not going to cut it compared to the modern aiming of 2 and 3.
I hope they changed the setting to match more recent shooters.

I also hope Killzone 1 HD is not a download code, ...

This playthrough is much more convincing than the previous one, looks less scripted with all the back and forth movement by the playable characters.
Looks much more organic, the AI and the level design really shine.

For me this is Sony's answer to Halo, more than Killzone, in the sense that I've never seen a western Sony exclusive that feels as progressive as this game in terms of design.

This game obviously lifts a number of technical as...
