"lots of looting things for no reason"
Truer words have never been spoken.

So the action is like Monster Hunter?
That's not necessarily a deal breaker per se, but the game was introduced with such fanfare, I was expecting a grander type of action adventure game with epic level design.
I hope it's not a bunch of arena-based missions with a disconnected story.

On the one end, since the Vita doesn't have an MH game, so I can understand why they would espouse its formula to give the Japan market what it craves, but as a W...

It'd be the best thing if Batman could move at a decent clip without me having to press A for hours on end.
Other than that, yeah it's superb.

I'd rather not have characters like Superman.
He is too cartoonish and over the top and doesn't really mesh with something dark and urban like the Batman and the Arkham games.
I think there was a reason why they steered clear from using characters who were too out of this world until now.

Nothing to see here folks.
This video has nothing offensive and some of the behavior described by the pseudo article is grossly exagerated. Who approved this stuff?

The ending of the demo hints that the story is yet about some rogue Russians and their crazed mastermind.
Ah, in this is politically correct world, the Russians are the last remaining fodder who you can still stereotype as villains without fear of outrage.

There is a semi sequel called Chrono Cross, which is one is better is debatable, but in terms of gameplay, Chrono Cross is more accessible to an action gamer because you can skip most battles.
These are turn-based games so it's a definite plus.
Story in CT is good, but the battles are run of the mill turn-based JRPG combat. It's pretty slow paced.

I think the answer is more direct.
Ken Levine: "Guys, with BioShock we did a game about an elitist utopian world that was built under the sea. How about we turn the gimmick on its head and make a game about a utopian world set in the skies? Deal."

Sometimes when it looks simple, it is.

In the middle section of the footage, the level design looks way more open than BF3 and most sections of BFBC2.
It's likely that they picked this section specifically in response to the criticism against the linear nature of these campaigns (especially BF3 but BFBC2 was also much more restrictive than BFBC1).

It remains to be seen whether this semi-free roam segment is indicative of the overall campaign (I seem to recall BF3 had one such moment too but the rest...

The trailer looks very CODesque, but it also shows a car coming out of the road into what looks like an open area.
Let's hope that the campaign has a few more of these areas, as it should.
But since linearity was already a criticism in BFBC2, and they did it worse in BF3, I dunno what to think.
Since these games continue to sell no matter how core gamers complain about level design, they really have no reason to make the effort.

The point of these remakes is that it takes little time or energy to do and brings in a good chunk of cash.
So they won't be sacrificing much ressources, if Naughty Dog does it in house at all.

PS3 games are ported to the 360, which already has a different architecture from PS3.
No port is built from the ground up.

Even when a publisher tells you they have rebuilt an engine from the ground up for a new installment (like Skyrim), you can often see that's a huge hyperbole.
So the idea that they would redesign an entire game from scratch just for a port that will sell a couple millions at best given the install base of a new system... Dream on! ...

Excuse me, but what's complex about the looting in Bioshock?
You just collect the same crap over and over and over again.
Basically, it's all the grind and time consuming nature of RPG looting, without any of the actual stats and depth of an RPG.

So don't act all elitist, like streamlining the item collecting in Bioshock would mean perverting the integrity of the game and going casual.
Bioshock IS an accessible game aimed at a large au...

Disappointed that the game still has that much looting.

I remember the first one, there was a ton of looting already, but the variety in available items was so low, it got old fast to scavenge every freaking corpse for one dollar and a couple bullets.

I value plug and play more than graphics.
Even when I play a game on PC, I put all the visuals on medium-low to ensure I don't have to re-tweak anything later.

Last 2 PC games I've played, cutscenes had no sound.
Other times, it's a graphics card compatibility issue.
I don't have time for this crap.
Playing games is about fun. Tweak your PC games all you want, play on a keyboard/mouse if you want, but don't annoy those...

I don't see how a little light like that will have much impact on your surroundings.
Sounds like something that was added as a PR angle in case MS goes forward with IllumiRoom.

Yeah, that's why I was saying that this one is more than a simple Mario ripoff.
In this one, you switch between 2 different versions of the world: the visuals, music orchestrations and elements of level design change from fairytale to gothic.
The concept has been done before, but it's done here with surprising care for an indie game.
The art is pretty charming and very different from Mario.
I dont play many pure platformers but I thought this one w...

I played the PC version for a bit, and it seemed surprisingly good, although I hear it's not that long.
At any rate it's much more than an old Mario ripoff, so if the price is right, I think it's a pretty good choice.

The PS3 made me a better gamer too. I had plenty of time to rethink my playing strategies each time the XMB interface stalled.
