Obviously, developers will not "say" it, in the middle of a time when Series X is marketing 60fps, but this is Digital Foundry take on the PS5 show:
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart|30 FPS
Stray|30 FPS
Returnal|30 FPS
Kena: Bridge of Spirits|30 FPS
Demon's Souls|30 FPS, but may offer 60 FPS mode
Destruction Allstars|Probably 30 FPS
Horizon: Forbidden West|Probably 30 FPS
Oddworld: Soulstorm|Probably 3...
Totally Agree. There are some big games releasing late this year. Hope they extend the deadline this year, considering the situation... They will probably save a lot of logistics since Covid should probably still be a thing at that time, so they could easily puch it to late December.
Didn't say PS5 isn't capable of 30fps+. I'm saying that most 1st developers (and 3rd party timed exclusives) have chosen to stick at 30fps... and also, since the power gap between PS5 and new PC Cards will be much bigger than with XSX, then it's a no brainer for me where to play games releasing in both platforms (PS5 and PC)... even if I decide not to upgrade, my 2080 Super should perform better, which won't be the case with XSX.
Was my first contender for GOTY .. if only this wasn't pushed to November... I think it won't make the cut for GOTY candidates.
Also upgrading here, but I'm more excited about playing on PC @ native 4K/60fps+ those games that will stick to 30fps on PS5. The jump will be so much more noticeable.
@boing1 Well... it's a racing game... it would be the last straw not to have it @60fps... but other than that, looks like 1st party big Sony titles will stick @30fps.
That would rule off a good number of lazy devs, but it IS the goal of the generation. Also, looks like all 1st party titles will be 60fps+
Difference is more about 30%, and it doesn't translate directly like that. Even if it did, you're looking at it the wrong way.
If a game ran @60fps on XSX it would translate to 42FPS on PS5. (again, it's not such a direct translation)
Just noticed there's Cyberpunk 2077 on the list. So it's official now, it will squeeze the Series X. Now that's exciting.
Well, Sony is advertising their SSD as if there was no tomorrow. Xbox is playing their cards, based on the power of the console, and the optimization deals they've made. (It will not always be about FPS, but could be native 4K + Ray Tracing, Mesh Shading, etc... depending on the game)
This will be an awesome next gen race.
"Optimized for Xbox Series X: (so far)
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Bright Memory Infinite
Call of the Sea

Cyberpunk 2077 🤯

Gears 5

Hitman 3
Madden NFL 21
Marvel’s Avengers
Outriders
Scarlet Nexus
Scorn
Second Extinction
The Ascent
The Med...
That's valid if you want a day one 4k/60fps... and have a 2080ti, unless you're not aiming at max settings.
For the best experience below USD1,000 I'm on the edge of playing it on my 2080 super or waiting for the Series X version, which should be even better.
As long as people keep placing it in the Top Ten in Weekly Sales, nearly every week, Rockstar will keep holding GTA VI... sadly.
Which is still a hell of a deal. Also, you can catch legit deals from MS themselves every now and then for Gamepass and you can well end up paying around $100 a year for Ultimate, which contains Live ($60) + Regular Gamepass ($120) + PC Gamepass (Bundled)
Thanks to this, I'm subscribed until 2022.
👏
It's a good thing Insomniac is taking action.
How about multiple co-workers backing up these accusations?
And also the way Insomniac handled this.
I forgot one tiny detail:
Polish Studio Acquisition. You can mark that one.
Next gen versions aren't ready, so I think there's little chance we'll see them.

What an uppercut! 🥊
