I agree 100%. And when I saw that Trend was offering an antivirus for the PS3 I was pissed because I know they're going to need to drum up some demand for it once April rolls around. I'll bet a paycheck that you will here of PS3 owners having virus's between now and next April. Becuase Trend of course will be making them for us.
Anti-virus companies are like the mob. You have to pay them "protection" money every month when they are the one's your getting protec...
Any idea when the patch will be released?
I just wish it had fully destructible environments so we could have before and after pics.
A turd in a dress! HILARIOUS! I don't really agree but it was still a great line.
I really didn't know how good Insomniac was until I first played Resistance. These guys definitely know what they're doing. I like the way they are willing to share info with the other PS3 developers.
How much do you think Toshiba will have to pay Warner to go HD-DVD exclusive if they had to pay Paramount 150 million. And for how long would Warner go exclusive. I'm thinking 300 million for 12 months. That'll be just enough to make Paramount pissed.
The funny thing is that I have owned a DVD player for years now and I've only bought a few movies. I rented 99.9% of the movies I watched on it. I've already bought more Blu-Ray movies than DVD movies because of the hi-def aspect. When I had a DVD player it was on a standard def tv anyway so I couldn't see much difference in picture quality.
(wall of text ^) Wow Jazz you really know your stuff!
Only about 3 more years. Not long at all.
Again the problem is that some people like myself bought the PS3 (get this!) to watch blu-ray movies and to play games on! (gasp! I know shocking) I went into my purchase of my PS3 as a HD media hub (wrong of me to think that way I know).
The other problem Toshiba has with HD-DVD is they keep lauding the attach rate of their players at the same time stating that their stand alone players have outsold Blu-Ray players. However disc sales are 2:1 in support of Blu-Ray. Toshi...
The ghetto toothfairy pic is priceless!
This is what Valve said about Orange box running on PS3 and 360.

Who really knows what there current level of optimization means though.
But I find it amazing that they had it up and running without moving everything over to the SPU's yet.
"Our job is not to further complicate the lives of our retailers."
I think that is the key statement in the entire article.
1. You can interpret it to mean that they just didn't want Total HD disk to make things more confusing.
2. Or you can interpret it to mean Warner might be choosing a side soon in order to help bring some clarity to the format war. You can speculate away from there which side they are going support.
Why would you believe what a site said over the developers themselves?
Also would 360 owners really want a delayed port of a game? Yes or No?
Do you have proof that Disney was paid to go Blu-Ray exclusive? You assume because Paramount was paid that Disney was?
I don't blame Paramount for taking the money. It was a smart move 150 million to stay with a very small market share for only 18 months until the market matures and you can go either direction? That was a great decision on Paramounts part.
I think the biggest problem the wii is going to have is the holiday game kiosks. They are going to put a wii game right next to a PS3 game or a 360 game and with the pricing being now even closer a lot of people are going to opt for the better graphics and game lineup.
Run SMG on a kiosk right next to RCTOD in front of someone who doesn't know any better and see which one gets picked.
Does anyone know whether you hold and swing the controller like you really would bowling?
I'm not sure how Toshiba is able to fund this format war. $99 dollar players. Paying off studios. And still being outsold 2 to 1. I'm glad I don't own stock in them.
This article offers absolutely nothing new to the table. I wasted my time reading it so you wouldn't have to.
