The pics are target renders. I remember first seeing them and thinking that it was impossible. But after seeing what developers are pulling off nowadays on next gen consoles. They may have hit the technology curve right on the button.
I think the lowest game score I've ever seen is a 1.0
Well that's a good thing for EA.
See you all online tomorrow night!
I don't know anyone that has a beast enough of a rig to run it properly anyway. I stopped upgrading my gaming pc when the PS3 came out.
I haven't seen any damage modeling in any of the films. They promised to do damage modeling right. I hope they come through with their promise.
Brilliant commercial. They should make a US version.
I don't think you drop the DVD format but if you start releasing the hi-def version of movies a week or two before the DVD version that will get people's attention that they are serious about hi def.
I wonder what info they have that Warner is going Blu-Ray exclusive? Who did they talk to?
Just finished it. Uncharted DEFINITELY!
Too bad the rest of the 5.7 billion people on earth aren't giving HD-DVD as much attention as the US is. It could of been a more competitive race.
Think of how many copies Epic will sell once someone makes the Gears of War mod.
I wonder how easy it would be to move the assets from the PC version of gears into the Unreal editor?
Mods really increase the longevity of games. That's one of the reasons I have no problems buying this game. People come up with some very creative ideas through the mod community.
And if it's hot enough you can work with Epic to actually sell it not just for PC but for PS3 as well.
The technology in it sounds amazing.
Streaming with no loading.
Integrated online.
Huge city.
HD-DVD supporters need to make up their minds about counting the PS3. Either you count it or you don't you can't have it both ways.
Blu-Ray supporters count the PS3.
HD-DVD supporters dismiss the PS3 if your talking player sales. So they can claim that HD-DVD is outselling 750K to 500K.
HD-DVD supporters count the PS3 if they're talking attach rate. So they don't have to admit with the above numbers that 500K Blu-Ray players are outselling 750...
Blu-Ray and HD-DVD should offer their hi-def versions a week before the DVD versions. That would stimulate some stand alone sales as well.
Great points. Keep holding on to hope.
A couple of notable quotes from the article.
>>"The rumor is that Warner is coming aboard soon," says Michael Burns, vice-chairman of studio Lionsgate (LGF), which makes its movies available on the Sony-backed format. "That will make it awfully tough for HD DVD to stay in this game."<<
>>Warner isn't talking, but people close to the situation say the studio is waiting to see which group sells more of the new-fangled DVD players ...
If every game ends up being like Madden we all have problems.
EA has been about the dollar over quality.
If EA keeps it up I might give up gaming. That'll make the wife happy at least.
Uncharted and Haze are spoiling me with no load times. Any future games that have load times I'm going to have to automatically deduct points for.
