I hope they change before release is the grinding speed. It would be so much more intense if it were faster. It was too easy to jump the gaps and avoid the trains. Besides that though, it was awesome.
Either get an HDTV, which you must not have. Or, if you do, get that brain surgery everyone's been telling you about. This game is nothing but vibrant and sharp. And I'm sick of xbox fanboys playing the "distressed Sony fan" card. It really comes off as obvious.
I'm 19, 20 in a couple months. Guess I'm technically an adult. But you know what, by not playing a game like this because it looks "childish", you're severely limiting your gameplay experiences. I had never played any before the demo, but now I want to go back and play them all. It plays amazing, looks amazing, and has pretty much everything I would want from a game. Is it too colorful for your adult eyes? Not enough blood perhaps? Is it lacking the language and boobs that obviously...
You'd be surprised. I'm in the Game and Simulation Programming program at DeVry here in the DC area, and while my major is mostly people like me who did a year at a different university or college and founf that they weren't going to get the most out of a standard Comp Sci degree, the other majors play host to a lot of kids who are really here on their "last chance". I've had to take classes with kids who are on their 12th time through the rudimentary class, there was one kid who co...
I hate how this gen has become about sales, or stupid metacritic scores, and not about which game is genuinely better. When did gamers suddenly become like businessmen? "Well, such-and-such product sold more, it must be better!" Play what YOU want to play, not what the market wants you to play, and have fun, that's what games are all about.
I'm pretty sure it's to combat the signal cut-out that happens on some systems. Having the controller cut out like that on Expert would be game over, and at the end of a long song like TTFaF, I would be ready to kill someone. I think the dongle is a decent idea, personally.
My Rebuttal:
Halo has brought people to the gaming world that some of us didn't necesscarily want to have there. I don't enjoy going online and hearing about how high people are, how drunk they are, of how they're gonna rape my mother. That completely takes away from the gaming experience for me. Halo itself has torn apart the landscape of game development. I blame it personally for the massive influx of mediocre FPS games that have become so prevalent over the last couple of y...
Lair was pretty awesome if you can forgive a couple of framerate hitches. That was the only noticable problem I saw with it. The motion feels great (to me anyway), and everyone who has played my cop has loved it and wants to play it over and over again. One friend even just went and bought a PS3 to but it. It really is a well-made game, it's just got a bad bandwagon effect going for it.
We don't need more Halo. Halo != innovation. This is the next gen people! Expand your mind! Think of the wonderful things you COULD do with this horsepower, not just the safe fallback games with cookie-cutter mechanics and stories. I'm looking for something completely new to tell me that I'm in a new generation of games.
They did also pump out the whole scene, from no script to done, in less than 3 months. I think the lip-synching and unfinished charater model and animations is forgivable. Imagine what they've done with almost 3 years of work?
You have to buy a whole new 360 if you want HDMI. How much do those go for? I'd rather pay like $50 for a controller if I want rumble than $400 for a console if I want old 1.2 HDMI (yes, my TV is 1.3 spec).
It wasn't that HDMI was "last-gen", it's that HDMI isn't THIS gen. But apparently now, it is. There must have been a whole "gen" there between 360, and 360 Elite that I completely missed out on. Oh, and upscaled 640p or 720p is still just 640 or 720. And all the HDR and bloom effects in the world don't make a game worth buying if you're a person who doesn't like playing online...
Has no one else seen the actual trailer of the dialog that this girl is recording in the video. It's pretty awesome. It's been around for like 2 years, so it should be easy to find for those who haven't seen it. @Lightning, they're called Quantic Dream. Should make it easier to find their stuff. Also, for the poster of the article, she may or may not be the main character in the game. She was the only character in the tech demo, but it has yet to be seen what role she will play in the actual ...
I still find it hysterical how you only rate a game AAA if it's average is above 90 on metacritic. If that's not the definition of sheep, i don't know what is.
Ugh... the mere thought of being a fanboy for anything MS related makes me feel sick. When they can release a finished product on time some day, maybe I'll give them a chance. But until Windows comes out done, not 5-years-to-done, and they release a system that doesn't break on me, that's not going to happen.
Halo didn't "triple 360 sales"... it tripled 360 sales for one week. You make it sound as if Halo sold 20mil 360s.
This isn't Xbox Live... no one cares if you've been drinking or if you're high.
Not to call you out on being overzealous, but neither R&C or Uncharted is 1080p/60. They're both 720p. You do make a valid point though, and it's that more complicated games than the crap that EA is constantly belching forth from it's development sphincter are running much better on the hardware. You make a great argument, but stick to facts or fanboys will eat you alive.
Don't forget freedom toast! and freedom bread! Was it just me, or did things just taste worst when they weren't "French"-ified? I'm glad that fad died, it was horrible. Great post though. I agree 100%.
Megaman Legends 3 FTW...
