I'm expecting something new this time...

"Seriously people, don't you feel the least bit bad for us. After everything we've been through, we've kept our chin up; we've always been unflinchingly positive in the face of defeat. Well, how about this. Yesterday Toshiba discovered the cure for AIDS and the common cold, but guess what, now we're not gonna share it. You all are jerks, and we're very disappointed with Wal-Mart's choice to exclusively carry Blu-Ray, despite our havin...

I'd hate to admit it Mighty_D, but they're right. Wal-Mart may as well be it's own government. This is pretty much the equivalent of saying "America decides to scrap HDDVD". As much as I hate Wal-Mart, and feel like a disgusting redneck whenever I have to go there, it hold more sway than probably any other single entity in any electronics war. Soon the "Ilo" branded (i think walmart is Ilo) blu-ray player will come out, and any trailer-trash that want to will be able to ow...

Had MS decided to put HDDVD in the 360, it would have taken just as long to come out as the PS3 did, would have cost just as much if not more, and the playing field right now would be completely different (console wise).

I still think Blu-Ray would have won.

Take that, quality!

Seriously, that couldn't have cost that much less than the extra 2 cents worth of plastic in the Asian case.

Obviously not a whole lot. Every PS3 model still plays PS1 games, it's completely software emulated. And it has nothing to do with the laser, clearly the laser can read DVDs just fine. It's about a lack of hardware that can properly decode and process the information on the PS2 discs, due to a lack of the EE/GS.

+ bubbles.

If you don't have a girlfriend to call, get one instead of playing DMC4. Her replay value will be much higher.

Please excuse my misogynistic remark, but i needed a way to relate...

2x Blu-ray is just as fast, and in some cases faster than a 12x DVD drive reading a dual-layer DVD. Sorry.

I saw CompUSA, and wanted to go there to buy some parts, but then I remembered that it doesn't really exist anymore... maybe if they had saved the money they spent to have their ad in the game, they wouldn't have had an epic fail.

I thought the demo was alright. Nothing like the original though. That was a masterpiece. It was very minimalist in a way, and the "draw distance fog" actually played to it's advantage. You really felt alone, which was what made it do great.

Also, I'm really starting to get sick of the Unreal Engine.

My mistake, I was also thinking of Natural Motion when I was writing it, the company who created Euphoria/Endorphin, the system used in the character adaptive AI. I can't edit my post now though. Freudian slips FTW!

DMM is some powerful middleware.

Fun fact, you can license DMM for free for your game, but you have to start paying royalties with the first game sold. Anyone interested in the pricing scheme for the Digital Molecular Motion can PM me.

This and Indy are gonna be great.

Also, people always seem to forget that most of these features are already there for the developers to put into their games. They are the one's choosing not to, not Sony.

Just in-game friends and messaging please. The music the creators pick is good enough for me, unless there's a game like GTA where your music is on a radio station. But that can be on a game-to-game basis.

It's pretty much the same customer service I've come to know from Microsoft. I'm not talking about game systems, more about their OSs. It would be foolish for MS not to just pony up the milk money they would need to pay for this. I think we can all agree, however, that this is a problem that never should have existed in the first place.

Also, I've seen a few people I don't personally think belong in the new "GAMER" section, but I'm willing to let bygones be bygones and...

I've reported both of you, 1 and 1.1. This is the new GAMER section, and there is no room here for petty fanboy wars. Why don't you both pull your heads out of each others' a$$es and play some dam games?

Truth or not is debatable, but it's just asking for a flame war.

I think it will be a very long time before Digital Distribution is the sole platform for a games system. There are many places in the world that enjoy gaming, but unfortunately don't enjoy widely distributed broadband access, and won't for some time. People also tend to enjoy something that they can hold in their hands, as code is easily corrupted. One ruined hard drive could mean hundreds of games and hours gone to waste.

Also, I love the new system. No more fanboy battles for ...
