On the framerate graph, I believe there's even a moment when you load in that the framerate is at 60fps before the cap to 30fps is applied. Hopefully we'll hear of a 60fps patch soon just like the R&C patch was announced after it was made free.
It's free up until 14th May, so let's see. If you have a Twitter account (I don't), I suppose you could upvote all these comments asking for 60fps (pretty much the whole thread). haha. 1852d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment
Being a PS5 launch game has definitely helped it sell even more than it was already going to. Resistance 1 was the best selling Resistance game because it was the best game during the PS3's launch.
I really wonder what Insomniac is going to do after all these Spiderman games.
True. The "PlayStation sells the best so they don't need your stupid advice" brigade lost, thankfully.
This gives me a small amount of hope that PS3 backwards combability is more likely now, and has given me a bit more confidence in Jim Ryan. Fair play.
A lot of people on N4G lapped that comment up without questioning whether it was actually true.
Anyone with common sense should have known that if Days Gone sold well, it would have gotten a sequel.
Sony have never released a statement about this game's sales - that tells you all you need to know. He was just playing to the audience who still can't handle the reception that Days Gone received. Hope he's happy with himself.
$65-70 a pop is still way cheaper than $84.
It's even more noticeable when we talk about the more expensive next gen games like Demon's Souls ($70, €80)
€80 is over $96.
$96 is the price for Europeans to play Returnal, Ratchet & Clank, Horizon 2, etc at launch.
"There are many things Days Gone does better than its competitors."
What are some of the "many things" than Days Gone does better than its competitors? I've played the game (full price) ... and I'd like to know. haha.
There are parts of the game that are stronger than others, sure, but nothing top class.
This is definitely the best gameplay that they've shown so far.
@ApocalypseShadow
I never assumed any of those things, so it's not relevant to me.
I'm basing most of my opinion on things that have already happened, not just "speculation".
- What they have done to Japan Studio is not a good.
- PS3 updates disappearing and not being able to buy digital PS3 games and DLC anymore, while MS are doubling the framerates in many of those same games, is not good.
- Sony ga...
Myself and Foxtrot have been very antagonistic to each other, so if I'm strongly agreeing with him, you know something is up. Foxtrot is right.
Jim Ryan has been messing up, and while that's obviously not going to immediately impact the sales in the short term (very little that Sony or MS can do can cause that), it could in time. The Series X could gain a lot of the market share.
Not being able to buy digital PS3 games and updates disappearing for...
Reading a quote like that, I always think that Neil's issue is that he's too nice. He's also said:
- that the birth of his daughter was a "huge inspiration" when writing TLOU, along with the feeling that he would "do anything" for her.
- that he likes to focus on "simple story, complex characters", i.e. TLOU
The Last Of Us is based on a concept that Druckmann created as a student in college, and one that he pushed ...
@Vanfernal
I was agreeing with you that there is a lot of potential in a Days Gone 2, but pointing out that they'd probably need to adjust their original pitch/intended direction to reach that potential.
If Days Gone 2 was greenlit now, a shared co-op multiplayer world (part of the pitch for DG2) just seems like it would distract them too much from a sequel really needed and what people actually want.
They would need to change their pitch a bit.
They proposed a shared co-op multiplayer world in tandem with the single-player. That's exactly the opposite of what a sequel needed, tbh. The first game's biggest issue was a lack of focus (an "everything but the kitchen sink" kind of game). A Days Gone 2 should cut the fat and beef up the good aspects of the first game (Assassin's Creed 2-style).
With the PS5 on the horizon, their pitch ...
Thank God they let you hide games in your library now like you could on the PS4. haha. There was so much stuff showing up in my PS5 library like PS4 demos that aren't even playable on the PS5.
A lot of this update was basically adding in PS4 features but it's nice to have. They expanded the Accessibility menu but I really hope they put back in the shortcut to turn off and on Custom Button Assignments. That was very useful on PS4 for people who have issues with their...
"Oh so he found himself basically forced to resign from his position afterall." No. Even the person who wrote this admits that people were "unequivocally wrong" that Leavitt lost his job because of pressure or cancel culture.
Leavitt said that no pressure was applied by WB for him to leave whatsoever, and that he had already intended to retire in August 2020 to help with a family member who was in deteriorating health (WB helped him move in a way where ...
If he really did turn down Kojima's next game, I'm going to be so pissed.
Look at all these games that have lost updates:
007 Legends - (USA, Disc) [*N/A*]
Battlefield 4 - (EU, Digital) [*N/A*]
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - (USA, Disc) [*Some players are having trouble downloading the Patch regardless of Region*]
Colin McRae: Dirt 2 - (JPN, Disc) [*N/A*]
Dante's Inferno - (USA, Disc) [*N/A*]
Dark Void - (EU, Disc) [*Some players are having trouble downloading the Patch regardless of Region. The pr...
Give some evidence of the game being "shit on" for having a white main protagonist. People are getting offended about something that never happened. A snippet from an IGN preview that was actually very positive about Deacon, his voice actor and the story, was taken out of context and exaggerated.
"Days Gone makes some interesting choices that kept my play session engaging, and the sections of its story that I experienced piqued my interest enough that I was l...
"Probably so Neil and his team can retcon shit in the first game"
Druckmann is not the reason that TLOU Remake exists.
It exists because a support group (Visual Arts Service Group) of 30 developers wanted to make their own project rather than just supporting other developers, and proposed remakes. They didn't have the budget to remake Uncharted 1 but could use the more modern tools from TLOU games so they opted for TLOU1. They also had a sec...
This is getting ridiculous. This better be a glitch and not an intentional, permanent decision.
The former director is no big truth teller. He's said conflicting things.
First he insisted that Sony only cares about the Metacritic score which loads of people latched onto and claimed way the reason that Days Gone 2 isn't being made.
Then just a few days later, he starts saying that people need to buy games at full price, which is an admission that the game didn't generate the revenue and interest that Sony wanted considering the developmen...
