This is pretty cool having the THQ name back out there, albeit, in a faint capacity.

You're right about this - you're just challenging a narrative that a lot of people have accepted because they've reiterated it for so many years and been in their own echo chamber for so long.

A bit immature lads.

I love how you can't make a coherent point without random insults and name calling (that's usually an indication that you know that you're not right). You're projecting, ironically calling others fanboys, in spite of the fact that the phrase "console loyalist" fits you more than anyone else on the site. You have even made tons of comments stating that all third party games are awful (coincidentally when the Wii U - your ...

There is one major point in this article that is quite salient - Nintendo needs to capture the minds of young children, in the console space and they already have them, to a large extent, within handheld gaming. They have franchises designed with children heavily in mind for consoles (they're catered to just as much as the adults), but the main demographics purchasing them are adults, so they need a better delivery system.

However, it questionable whether a hybrid is t...

This game is so damn good, and it's great to see that it's still as relevant as it is and continuing to improve. This is a pretty cool way to expand the formula (for this specific mode obviously). And apparently, they have some other stuff to announce as well.

"Anyone hoping that this never hits the NX just because the first game was also on other platforms," You're creating an imaginary antagonist. People aren't hoping that it won't be on the NX (you literally just made that up) - they just want it on the platform they've already invested in, and not everyone will even like the concept of the NX. With that in mind, you can resort to name calling ("salty console war soldier"), or you can be a reasonable adult and...

Agreed. It would be a slap in the face. The GameCube port of the first game was the worst selling version, and many of us bought the remaster on PS3 and the 360 as well. We kept interest (and likely funding), going for this franchise, and now it's going to be exclusive elsewhere? If it's a timed exclusive, I can begrudgingly deal with it, but otherwise this is awful.

Terrific game.

Thanks for reading my comment and trying to understand my perspective. I've always thought gaming needed more level-headed (and maybe even some deeply ideological) debates - there is a tendency for us to get too heated. I do try to put a lot of caveats in my comments, and I know I very rarely say stuff as disagreeable to some as this, but this is just the way I feel. I do respect your point of view too, and I think I get why you would feel that way, especially if you're also coming a...

I wrote out a really long comment replying to you, but I exceeded the character limit (4000, yeah, I went a bit overboard in attempting to express my point - this has been on my mind a lot lately) and ended up losing the comment, so I'll just have to say that we're best agreeing to disagree. I'm kind of pissed off, to be honest. However, I will quickly note that I think you may have read my GC reference wrong. I wasn't insulting it at all (I'd love another GC-style Nintend...

I strongly disagree with the implications of this article. It's provides a narrative that kind of irritates me. Sony and Microsoft are innovating, and have been, for the last 15-20 years. But they've been doing so incrementally, in the places that matter. Shiny poor gimmicks, with the intention of chasing casuals, are not good innovation, nor should they be the barometer of how innovative something is. When you play Nintendo consoles today, they feel and are, outdated in a number of w...

Well, OK. I get the broader point you're making. I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree for this particular game though.

I get what you're saying, but I don't think there's any real point asking for that game. They tried to do a real Prey 2 before and it didn't work out. This is probably for the best. Bethesda tried to do Doom 4 before, they failed, gave it another try from a different angle, and we got an excellent Doom game (although, I know, this game might not necessarily capture much of the old "Prey" feeling, the way Doom nailed well, itself). .

I don't bel...

I don't agree with what the fatsosubmo is saying (although, I would personally like Nintendo to go 3rd party as I don't want a handheld, of any sort, anymore), but your being a bit disingenuous. The PS4 will most likely exceed 3DS sales by March. The 3DS has lost momentum, whereas the PS4 still has tons and is still months away from being just 3 years old, while the 3DS is almost 5 years and half years old.

This looks like it will be a well-made story-driven, single-player FPS, so I really have nothing to complain about. It looks awesome.
